Whether you’re out for family-oriented frivolity or a ladies-only escape, this destination (and the not-too-shabby region that surrounds it) will definitely please the masses.


Aside from the obvious draws (San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Sea World) there’s much more to consider here. Go the adventurous route and take a sailing trip, learn to surf, watch for birds, whales or dolphins and do a little rock climbing in Mission Gorge. It might be hard to build up the motivation to stray too far once you’ve settled into your comfortable vacation rental, however.
