Ventura cottage Rental Property Information
The California Coastal Cottage, located just steps from the beach in Ventura, is perfectly situated for visiting scenic Santa Barbara and the Central Coast wineries. Under the wonderful sunny skies of Southern California, you will find miles of beautiful beaches, a thriving harbor filled with recreational and commercial boats, and the feel of Old California in our historic downtown and Mission districts. The master bedroom is furnished with 19th century antique furniture. A second bedroom has a futon double - twin bunk bed and additional sleeping for two is available on the sofa bed.

Ventura is located just an hour north of Los Angeles and one-half hour south of Santa Barbara on California's beautiful coastline. The regional airports are located at Oxnard (10 miles) and Santa Barbara (35 miles). While renting a car is advisable, it is possible to reach the cottage via airport bus/shuttle service and Amtrak. Local bus service in the Ventura and surrounding areas is available.

- To reserve the cottage, please send a 50% deposit refundable up to fourteen days before the occupancy date. Please indicate by email when the check has been sent. The remaining balance must be received not less than fourteen days before the first rental date. In addition, a separate $250 refundable damage deposit check must be sent with the final balance.
Contact owner via email to obtain deposit address and additional (daily/monthly) rates. Guide of Ventura area also available from owner. - There is a seven night minimum stay during high season (June 1 - September 30). Summer weeks begin and end on Saturdays. Shorter stays are available off-season. Monthly rental rates are highly discounted at $2,200/month from October 1 to May 31 and $3,800/month during the remaining season (inclusive). Rates are higher during USA Holiday periods. Check-in: 3:00 p.m. or later; checkout: 10:00 a.m. Late arrivals can be accommodated with prior notification. **CHECK WITH OWNER FOR LONGER TERM RENTAL RATES - WILL NEGOTIATE**
- Refunds of deposits will be returned if cancellation occurs not less than fourteen days before the first rental date. The separate damage deposit check will be returned via mail upon successful check out.

We particularly enjoyed the outdoor area and used it a great deal (including the barbeque!) Being able to walk to the beach was a great bonus as on some days the family went to Six Flags and so we were without a car. Also within walking distance was the excellent Italian restaurant Cappelletti's in Seaward Avenue - not much to look at from outside but the food was really very good. We also enjoyed our visit to the Ventura County Fair (also on a no-car day) so we were able to use the park and ride service. We were very impressed with the local crafts we saw there - quilting,egg decorating, woodwork etc. Ventura itself is a lovely town for wandering - lots of interesting little shops and the pier is a must!! We found the local people very friendly and helpful - we even met a 'neighbour' at the County Fair!! All pleased to promote the delights of the local area. |
