Welcome to Aux Bons Amis! Aux Bon Amis is situated in old Quillan on the Place de la République, a square with a café, news agency, café bar and The Palace Hotel (which has great steaks!). The square is full of colour by day and quiet and atmospheric by night with the river rapids nearby. Aux Bons Amis is serene and private with a variety of accommodation to offer. All apartments have access to a spectacular roof terrace for entertaining under the backdrop of magnificent views to the mountains, the Quillan chateau which is almost within reach. Sun lounges, tables and chairs and a barbeque for entertaining make the roof terrace an unimaginable delight! The two adjoining buildings that are Aux Bons Amis once housed a bank and private apartments. Now Aux Bons Amis offers 5 newly renovated apartments varying from the grand ‘The Bank’ that includes a stately boardroom, two spacious 2 bedroom apartments, and 2 studios for those on on the go and needing a more economic alternative.

Apartment 1- ‘THE BANK’ 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom This spacious apartment is on the first floor, with the lounge and formal dining room (once the boardroom) having grand proportions with 3 metre high ceilings, black marble fireplaces and large windows that over look the square. You will be very comfortable here. The bedrooms are spacious with double beds and one bedroom has an ensuite. There is a new fully equipped kitchen and the new main bathroom has a full sized bath with shower over. Laundry facilities and internet wifi access are included. We have tried to preserve the character by keeping as many original features as possible and with all the modern conveniences. This is a truly prestigious apartment with access to the wonderful roof terrace, all for entertaining in a grand atmosphere!

The nearby vineyards and wineries together with quaint villages and a rich history provide innumerable pleasures to explore. For those who like the outdoors there is plenty to do with cycling, hiking and white water rafting to name a few. The ski fields and duty free shops in Andorra and the French mountains (40 m away) are a day trip. It is on the rail line with a direct link from historic Carcassone. Carcassonne city and airport, is 45 minutes away and is the only fortified town in Europe still inhabited, where an enormous old castle stands open to be explored. Wiith the rail link, you do not need a car to explore with and our apartments are only a 5 minute walk from the train station. This is a lovely area for walking, birdwatching, sightseeing, horse-riding, kayaking, white-water rafting and most other outdoor activities. The nearest Cathar castle is 10 miles away at Puilaurens and there are many other castles in the area. This area is so beautiful and there is so much to do!

- Check out time is 10.00am and check-in after 14.00unless by prior arrangement.
Changeover day is usually Saturday, but we will be flexible if possible. Rental Fee is for a weekly Saturday to Saturday rental. All linens included. Rates include electricity and water. There may be a heating surcharge for winter rentals.
Payment in euros into our French account is preferred. International money order or cheque are possible. A Deposit of 30% holds the booking. Full balance of rental fee plus a refundable damage deposit of 300 euros is due 6 weeks before rental is due to start. Refund will be within 14 days of departure.
Very attractive rates for longer term (i.e. more than 2 weeks) winter/off-season lets. If you are interested in a longer let during the off season (October - March) please contact us directly as we will be pleased to offer attractive discounted rates.

There is a shared in house laundry with washing machines and dryers readily available to you. All apartments are heated and offer internet wifi access.

And you can ski !! There is proximity to a range of amazingly challenging down hill skiing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing, with beginner through to black run terrain just 30 minutes away. You can ski all day then return in the evening to an authentic French village and relax glass of wine in hand, music playing, reliving the day’s thrills and spills on the slopes! Further afield are Ax-les-Thermes and Andorra’s party town, Pas de la Cosa or the beautiful Soleu, couldn’t be easier! The cost of ski hire & ski passes are extremely cheap, as is the food & wine, particularly in Andorra – Europe’s duty free destination! See below for more skiing details....
Skiing Information: Quillan is on the doorstep of the Pyrenees that have long been considered one of the top areas for skiing, with numerous ski resorts including snow boarding etc, often in brilliant sunshine and always with awe-inspiring views! The nearest ski resort is Camurac (34minutes), with 16 downhill pistes and 14 km of cross-country ski tracks. Buses go every half hour from Quillan during the skiing season. Puyvalador (48mins) and Les Angles (56mins) have fine pistes suitable for beginners through to experts and also off piste routes for the more adventurous. For even more variety, The Mijanes-Donezan (36mins) ski station is set above a series of seven interconnected picturesque villages and Les Monts D'olmes Ski Station (63mins) is situated in the heart of Cathar country.
