Baxby Manor is on the edge of the pretty village of Husthwaite, on a 110 acre traditional arable farm, managed to encourage wildlife in many differing habitats. This is perfect country for walking cycling and touring—North to the vast dramatic open landscape of the Moors: West to the green valley pastures of the Dales, loved by our famous local vet. James Herriot, and the wild Bronte Country; South through the Vale of York to the City with its glorious Minster, Jorvik Viking Museum and the National Rail museum: East to the Wolds and coast—picturesque fishing villages, Whitby’s quaint streets, imposing cliff top Abbey and Dracula legend, the traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey. There are Castles, Abbeys and Stately homes in abundance. Castle Howard, Beningborough Hall, Newby Hall, Duncombe Park -The Abbeys of Byland Rievaulx and Fountains are all within half and hour’s drive.

The kitchen has a range cooker with 8 rings a grill and 2 ovens All bedrooms on first floor. There are steps to some rooms on both ground and first floors. Please note that there is a fish pond in the back yard. l pet only [can also be accommodated in outbuildings if required]. There are 2 sitting rooms - one with large TV and inglenook fireplace and the other is a library . The laundry equipment is in a separate utility room as is the 'American' fridge/freezer with ice maker
