You are a five minute walk from Lough Corrib, the Republic of Ireland's largest trout fishing lake and a 20 minute walk from the town of Oughterard. Galway city is on the west coast of Ireland and the town of Oughterard is located 25km north on the shores of Lough Corrib. Galway is a lively city famed for the July horse racing festival and also the annual oyster festivals. There are many beaches in Salthill and along the coast right up to Connemara. Oughterard is a picturesque town which comes alive in May for the mayfly fishing and has many bars and restaurants to satisfy all taste buds. It is a perfect location for a holiday break. Local amenities include an 18 hole golf course, boat trips on Lough Corrib and Aughnanure castle. The Aran islands and Inishbofin off the coast of Galway can be visited for day trips as can the Burren in Co Clare.
