Since this is my listing, I’m going to tell you why MY family loves Cape Coral, Florida. It’s a boater’s paradise and we love the water. While the convenience of a boat behind this vacation rental cannot be minimized – just living on the water is a pleasure. There is nothing like looking out any rear-facing door or window onto the beautiful, peaceful canal. From the moment you wake up to when you go to bed at night, the tranquility of the water and sun is better than Prozac! Of course, the fun of going to lunch by boat shouldn’t be minimized. Docking the boat and walking in looking wind-tossed is exhilarating AND it makes the other diners (who arrived more conventionally) jealous. We enjoy boating to the Cape Coral beach, the Ft. Myers beach and the beaches of Sanibel. My boys also spend a great deal of time fishing off the dock and from the boat. If you enjoy activities on the water, this is the place for you!

  • Please send me an email for an all-inclusive rate based on the length of your visit and number of guests. The rate listed is for two adults and up to four children under 18 years of age. Additional adults are $100 per week more. A refundable damage deposit of $1000 is required. 11% Florida tax will be added to the base rental rate. A 25% non-refundable confirmation deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 30 days in advance of arrival. Boat check out with licensed Coast Guard Captain (required by our insurance carrier) is $140, paid directly to the captain. Renter must replace fuel used during operation of the boat. Price includes $75 per week allowance for electricity. Cleaning fee at time of departure is $125. NOTE: Boat rental is optional from mid-May to mid-December. If the boat is not reserved during these periods, the rental rate will be reduced by $400 and the damage deposit will be reduced to $500.

  • The master bath is separated from the master bedroom by double pocket doors. It has a huge sunken tub that overlooks its own private garden – it’s hard to explain – check out the photos. The door to the garden is a pocket slider that I love to leave open for great airflow in the cooler months. The commode and shower in the master bath are separated from the main bath by a door for privacy. The double vanity provides plenty or room for two to get ready at the same time. There’s even a bench under the vanity if you prefer to sit down while you do your make-up. The walk-in closet is separated from the vanity area by accordion doors. The cabana bath opens onto the pool deck and is in the hall just outside the other two bedrooms and by the kitchen. The shower and commode area in this bathroom open to the outside and is separated from the vanity area by a door. This offers swimmers convenient access to the shower or commode even while another person gets ready in the vanity area.

  • The spacious master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a lounge chair with reading lamp and a large dresser with 8 drawers. There is a walk-in closet in the attached master bath. Opposite the master bath, double glass doors disappear on a special track when opened onto the pool deck. This gives the room a wide open feel. During our first visit to this Cape Coral, Florida rental, we enjoyed sleeping with these doors open – the sounds of the canal were so soothing. Imagine my surprise one morning when I opened my eyes to the see the pool cleaner doing his weekly maintenance! The day of this important service is noted in our “Guest Reference Book” so you won’t be similarly surprised. Across the living area are two more good-sized bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed, TV, dresser, side chair and oversize closet. The other bedroom has two twin beds, toys, children’s books, a dresser and an oversized closet. There is also a toddler bed and pack-n-play available for our guests’ use.

The Boat The property's 2004 Twin Vee Bay Cat 19 (6.3 meter) is perfect for cruising the canals, spending a day on the river or visiting one of the many beaches nearby. With canal access from the home's private boat dock, you can reach the Caloosahatchee River in just one minute and the Gulf of Mexico in just over 30 minutes. And there is nothing to compare with boating to one of the nearby restaurants or marinas for lunch or diner - some as close as 20 minutes away. Comfortable seating for six, this is the largest true power catamaran to offer outstanding performance with a single engine. Designed exclusively for a single engine - with the Suzuki 140 hp Four Stroke, this boat truly does it all. Whether you're in shallow or deep water, no other boat offers the versatility and dry, soft ride of a Twin Vee. The efficient foam filled, self-bailing hull design provides for great performance. It's wide 7.5 foot (2.5 meter) beam and cat design provide more usable space than most larger length boat.

The Pool Nothing about the specifications of our pool can convey how much FUN it is. But I’ll start with the specifications anyhow: -Our pool is 14 feet by 32 feet (approximately 4.6 meters by 10.3 meters). -It has an electric heater and thermal pool cover for use during the cooler months (mid-November to mid-April). -It faces west for maximum sun exposure and great sunsets. (As you look at Cape Coral, Florida rentals make sure you ask which direction the pool faces! You will be VERY unhappy with a north or east facing pool which would be in shadow most of the day.) Hm mm . . . everything about having a pool in the back yard seems self-evident to me now . . . but I remember how shockingly great it was during our first visit. I couldn’t get over the fun of going swimming before breakfast. My boys LIVED in the pool when we weren’t out on the boat. It was fabulous. They were exhausted at the end of every day then woke up asking for the pool again first thing the next morning.

Miscellaneous FISHING There are a couple of poles and some fishing tackle at the Villa Foster for the use of our guests. My boys catch fish off the back dock with hot dogs! We are pretty casual fishermen – just toss out a line and take what we get. If you are more serious about the sport, you should bring your own gear and ask our check out captain for guidance. GETTING AROUND IN CAPE CORAL A rental car is recommended. Cape Coral is the largest city in Florida (land wise) and has over 400 miles of canals. This means that getting around on foot or by bike is not practical. AREA AIRPORTS The closest airport is the Fort Myers airport (airport code RSW). This is approximately 30 minutes away from Villa Foster. Other Florida airports our guests have used include Tampa (TPA), Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).
