This apartment is located in the medieval village of Monticiano, which is surrounded by the picturesque, crumbling remains of its medieval walls. You can climb one of the towers to enjoy a magnificent view of the valley below. Of course, the main draw of Monticiano is simply becoming part of daily life in a small Tuscan village, but there are also things to do and see. At the entrance of the village, you will find the church of Saint Augustine, dating back to the late Roman age. It contains 14th century frescoes by various artists from Siena. Nearby you will also find a convent, inhabited by Augustan monks. Elsewhere in town there are also parish buildings dating back to the 12th century, which house both more frescoes and other religious artwork just as a wooden crucifix. Outside of town you'll find the Abbey of San Galgano, where the Saint's sword-in-stone has been preserved to this day. As this apartment is also well-located just south of Siena, most of the major Tuscany attractions are within day-trip distance.

Exterior Description
Characteristic, totally independent (110 m2) accommodation built in the ancient walls surrounding the village of Monticiano (all kinds of shops). There are extensive woodlands around the village for walks. The Abbey of San Galgano and nearby chapel where the legendary sword thrust into the rock has been preserved, is worth a visit. Public parking 200 m away. Extensive views and peaceful position. The accommodation has two entrances: one facing the village on the ground floor, and the other facing the valley on the first floor with outside staircase.
