Beautiful castle dating back to the year 1000 and restored in 1600 by a noble family, with a magnificent tower built in the same architectural style as that of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. The castle has recently been transformed into a cozy tourist residence run by the present owner. The castle is located in the municipal jurisdiction of Montespertoli in a vast farm estate with vineyards and olive groves. Peaceful and panoramic position. A beautiful terraced garden which is very well kept and equipped surrounds the castle and is where you will find the swimming pool (7x14) (1/4-30/10).
The terracings are adorned with original Italian gardens from the 18th century. The castle is 1 km from the hamlet of Montagnana (food shop), 20 km from Florence, 65 km from Pisa (airport). There is daily bus service to Florence. Services of the castle and extras: porter's lodge is open from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. on week-days and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. English speaking staff. Public phone (need phone card) in the courtyard. Parking in front of the castle. It is possible to purchase typical products from the farm in the characteristic bar that is located inside the castle's ancient cellars. The structure has a good restaurant open everyday (excluding Tuesday) for dinners and breakfast. On request to paid for on the spot: baby-bed hire (52 Euro/week) and an additional bed (77 Euro/week), domestic help (12 Euro/hour).
