Exterior Description
This historic family country house was originally constructed in the 1800s in late Liberty style. It was modified in the 1930s when its majestic entry drive and panoramic tower were constructed. Furnished with family antiques and valuable paintings by local artists, the villa continues to be much loved. The villa is quite large and is divided into two independent suites which share a large self-catering kitchen with open fireplace. Outdoor amenities include a large terrace with views of the countryside, a vegetable garden, and extensive grounds. Located in the village of Gabbiana (near Bagnone), Casa Lunigiana enjoys a fascinating location amidst the hills and valleys of northern Tuscany's Lunigiana region. The beautiful coastal zone of the Cinque Terre is just 30 minutes by car, as are the famous marble quarries of Massa Carrara. Viareggio, Lucca, and Forte dei Marmi are can be reached in an hour. Florence is 1.5 hours away. Nearby Bagnone, Malgrate, Pontremoli, Filetto, and Aulla make interesting day trips. All boast medieval castles and are within a 10-20 minute drive. The nearest golf course is a half-hour drive, while tennis courts and horseback riding are only 15 minutes away. A perfect spot for large gatherings, Casa Lunigiana's small family chapel, also carefully restored, is available for weddings. Parking is available along the cypress-lined lane.

There is shared intermediate floor kitchen (shared with Suite 2, located on the second and third floors) and dining room with seating for 16 (first floor). Suite 2. Second floor and third floor tower. Second floor: There is a living room with open fireplace and piano. There are three double bedrooms and one single bedroom. There is one bathroom with shower. Third floor tower: There is a living room with wonderful views of the Apuan Alps and the gulf of La Spezia. There is a shared intermediate floor kitchen (shared with Suite 1, located on the first floor) and first floor dining room with seating for 16.
