St. Hilaire du Bois is only 20 mins from the Gironde estuary, the beginning of 15 kilometers of beautiful beaches which are cleaned daily, whilst Royan, 45 mins away, a favourite with Parisians, offers many amenities, including the opportunity to engage in all water sports and enjoy miles of golden sand beeches. La Rochelle is only second to Paris for the number of visitors per year. This beautiful city has much to offer you including boat trips to various islands and around the famous Fort Boyard. The excellent Aquarium is definitely a 'must see', and one is definitely spoilt for choice as to restaurants.

Maisonnee des Tournesol, As you enter the house, the warm reading room welcomes you, complete with shelves of books and videos. The fully fitted kitchen contains everything to make your stay enjoyable. Including Electric cooker with large oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. In the Salon the comfortable seating and log fire encourage you to listen to music on the stereo, so bring your favourite Cd's, or play some of the games provided, perhaps with the family. Along with the television there is a DVD player and Video recorder. One large double bedroom downstairs has an adjoining bathroom, and overlooks the enclosed courtyard . While the other with a king size bed has an en suite shower room with toilet and also a private exit to the garden/conservatory. The conservatory has plenty of comfortable seating and there is garden furniture both in the courtyard, in the garden adjoining the conservatory, and also of course by.

Maisonee des Tournesols The villa is situated in a very picturesque village which nests between the wine growing region of Bordeaux and the vines of Cognac, France. This area of the south west of France enjoys a micro climate of its own which gives it the same amount of sunshine per year as Nice. The villas are also only 10 mins from the Auto route A10 making it very accessible and easy to find. For those preferring to Fly and hire a car, it is just 50 mins from Bordeaux airport which is serviced by bmi baby from Manchester and Birmingham. British Airways also fly to Bordeaux from Gatwick, whilst La Rochelle is just 75 mins away from the villas being serviced by Ryanair from Stanstead and Dublin.

Area La Rochelle This is a wonderful old port, and is the second most popular town to Paris, with its 3 outstanding medieval towers. The very attractive port has a pedestrian waterfront and free municipal bike hire. Plenty to do and see at the harbour and marina, the shops and aquarium and oceanographic museum. This is the place for fish restaurants. The ancient lighthouse of Corduan is definitely worth a visit. There are boat trips available to the islands and around the famous Fort Boyard . Royan A marina, a fishing port, the landing stage of the vat for the Verdon and the Medoc, the departure of high-speed motorboats, walks at sea, the famous Cordouan lighthouse trip.... Nautical leisure amateurs, yachtsmen and those just curious about the things of the sea will be delighted!. St Emilion St Emilion is just 1 hour away and is the most perfect medieval town, cobbled streets, and the centre of excellence for the famous St Emilion vinyards / wines.
