Gun Point's exceptional location within a private estate offers a relaxed sense of peace and solitude. The estate was crafted in 1969 around Gun Point's original 18th-century gunpowder store. The property was fully-renovated in 2005 to a high standard of updated luxury, reviving the holiday magic enjoyed at Gun Point decades ago.
Gun Point offers 5 air-conditioned bedrooms in 2 pavilions, all facing out to sea and built adjacent to a state-of-the-art low-chemical pool. The Main House comprises the living area (equipped with a high-end media system) & a custom kitchen which opens out to a covered living/dining terrace (with built-in gas grill). The terrace looks out to the beach at Smugglers Cove.
Gun Point's bedrooms are all named in a British family tradition: in the Main House, the king master suite (built within the original gunpowder store) is called "Union" - this suite has its own private terrace and also accesses the main terrace. "Jack" is the other suite, which has french doors opening to the main terrace. Steps from this covered terrace lead to the infinity-edge pool & sundeck and to an outdoor shower. Paths thread through tropical landscaping to the private dock (with small boathouse & steps for easy water access), to the top of the promontory, and through the garden to the beautiful white sands of nearby Smugglers Cove beach.
A native-stone walkway connects to Gun Point's Guest Pavilion, with 3 more bedrooms & a study: "Fish" (a king suite) and "Chips" (a suite with a king or 2 twin beds), each has ensuite bath & private terrace. "Salt" is a double-bed bedroom sharing the bath with "Chips." On the slightly-lower level is "Pepper," offering a study/home office with computer, double sofa-bed & half-bath with covered alfresco shower outside - perfect for teenagers.
This wonderful, electronically-gated estate offers serene, secluded luxury for guests of all ages, a sense of history, and a spacious and relaxing island hideaway for groups large and small.
GUN POINT'S RATES INCLUDE PREPARATION OF BREAKFASTS & LIGHT LUNCHES 5 DAYS/WEEK (you buy the groceries & drinks), & 2 BOTTLES OF WINE UPON ARRIVAL. Also included is a complimentary gourmet dinner for all High Season guests (prepared and served by one of Tortola's best chefs on the evening of your choice). During Low Season, a light self-serve welcome meal will be prepared for your arrival. Breakfasts & lunches are prepared by Gun Point's housekeeper/cook (lunches may be either picnic or served at Gun Point - guests simply pay for groceries & beverages, except for the complimentary dinner). Gourmet dinners at the villa may be arranged, and are charged on a per-person basis - please inquire for menus & rates. Gun Point's staff will also be delighted to stock the villa with groceries & beverages for your arrival - they'll do the shopping, and you'll reimburse Gun Point for the cost of groceries & drinks upon arrival.
Please note: Christmas/New Years require a 10-night minimum and Thanksgiving rentals require a 7-night minimum.
