This log cabin located in Rockwood Village is aptly-named the 'Spencer View Cabin' because it sits on a great piece of property nestled among birch trees with great views of scenic Mt. Kineo and breathtaking views of the Spencer mountains. It also has a grassy lawn, pebble/rocky swimming area, and outdoor fire pit. With a light and open interior and vaulted ceilings, on the main floor of the cabin is a kitchen, and combination dining/living room.
The master bedroom and full bathroom is also on the main floor. The upstairs is a loft area with the additional beds so that this cabin can accommodate up to 6 people. A short distance from this cabin is scenic Mt. Kineo and a public boat launch area as seen in the pictures. If you have a motor boat, you can launch it here and there is also a public docking area that operates on a first come, first serve basis.
New in 2006 is an aluminum private dock at the property (check out the lake and mountain views from the dock as seen in the pictures), however this private dock is small and not suitable for overnight docking. This rental is also in a prime location for winter activities - the cabin is only about 200 yards from an ITS trail, or in a very popular location for ice fishing. Clear, easy access to Moosehead Lake is also fun for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing from your front door!
