A 300 year-old converted self catering stone barn. Situated in the Conservation Area of the medevil town of Chapel-en-le-Frith, Meadow view is a spacious holiday home equipped and comfortably furnished for five people. The kitchen has doors opening on to the patio area and the sitting room overlooks the gardens with open views of our meadow and the Peak District hills beyond. While very close to the town, it feels like being in the country. Within a few minutes walk of shops, banks, a variety of good restaurants, pubs and takeaways. The area is ideal for walking and short drives will take you into areas of varied and spectacular scenery. You can easily reach gorges with rushing streams, and may walk around the lakes and through the forests, or over high and rugged hills. There is something for everyone, young or old within a short drive of the cottage. We would be pleased to welcome you to Meadow view and help you to have a pleasant and memorable vacation.

Although secluded and situated in its own grounds, the property is within two minutes easy walk from shops, banks, restaurants and pubs. |

Activities There are two swimming pools in the area. Pony trekking and bike hire can be obtained nearby. There are two golf courses and a driving range nearby where golfers can practice and the family can have fun. There are two adventure playgrounds for children up to 14 years of age and course fishing by day permit for adults. There are several stately homes within a short drive, and caves, castles and lakes for sightseeing trips. The National Tramway Museum takes one back to the 1920's while a cable car takes one to the Heights of Abraham where there is a Dinosaur museum and caves to amuse young people. The renowned Alton Towers Adventure Park is a must for those who like to indulge in thrills.
Places of Interest We are close to Lyme Park where the BBC TV series Pride and Prejudice was made, and to the famous Chatsworth House with wonderful gardens and an adventure playground and farm park for the children. Across the hills is Holmfirth where Last of the Summer Wine is made. Moll Flanders and Jayne Eyre were made at Haddon Hall, a fine medieval, castellated house. We are not far from Alton Towers, the American Adventure and Matlock with its cable cars to the caves and dinosaur museum. A 45 minute drive takes you to Manchester to the Steam and Industrial Museum, the Space Museum, Coronation Street and the Roman fort, all within a very compact area. There walks of various degrees of effort. We are at the centre of good walking country of easy, moderate and hard grades. Lakeland and forest walks among the trees , are generally quite flat and make pleasant walking in the summer and brisk walks in winter. Close by is Edale, the start of the Pennine Way.
Golf Information: There are two golf courses in the area and a golf range, nearby.
