The cottage in Marnaves is ideally situated in the centre of what the French call 'the golden triangle' in the Midi-Pyrenées, enclosed by the gorge du Aveyron, the gorge du Tarn, the Grésigne forest & a crown of fortified hilltop medieval villages of beautiful sandstone, 'bastides'. They were first built in the 13th century under the orders of a king or a lord. These towns are the jewels in the Tarn. Marnaves lies near Cordes sur Ciel, the most spectacular of these gems between rolling Gaillac vineyards. Others such as Bruniquel, Penne, Puycelsi, Vaour & Castelnau have their own character, their own points of interest & history, & their own bistros & restaurants to seek out & savour. Whether by car, foot or bicycle, a circuit through these Bastides is not to be missed. All throughout the summer there are loads of activities in & around these towns as well like the festival of hats, jazz festivals, open air concerts in the woods, night markets & classical music concerts.

  • This property is a cosy, comfortable cottage sitting independently in its own grounds. From the garden you enter the upper level where the living accommodation is situated. Salon/Dining room. This is a spectacular room, divided in two by a difference in height: a salon part and a dining part going through to the kitchen. It is light and airy and well furnished. The main features are superb exposed oak beams, natural stone walls and a beautiful fire place. Both parts of the room comprise comfortable sitting areas with French doors opening out onto the private terrace overlooking the woods and fields beyond. The wood-burning fire in the room is of great benefit to those guests wishing to holiday out of the main season. The kitchen also opening to the terrace (ideal for breakfast) is well equipped with a ceramic cooker, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle and all the other necessary equipment for your daily needs.

The house is spacious and light, with French windows open out onto the terrace (with barbecue) and garden. The swimming pool, is privately situated close to the terrace and is surrounded by fields and woods affording spectacular views across the valley surrounding Cordes. The pool is entirely at our guests' disposal. Privacy and seclusion is guaranteed to our guests and those needing a peaceful and relaxing home
