Castiglione di Sicilia is a new touristic place, ideal to spend your holiday. This beautiful house consists of two bedrooms (1 double, 1 room with three single beds), it sleeps up to 5 people, sheets, blankets and pillows and towels are provided. There are also two kitchen, that are fully equipped with anything you may need, one bathroom, one drawing-room. It is an ideal place to spend unforgettable Italian holidays while discovering the charm of the Castiglione di Sicilia.

Halfway between Etna mount and Taormina, Castiglione di Sicilia can be reached in less than one hour from Fontanarossa airport in Catania. Near my Castiglione di Sicilia house you can find: Supermarket, Restaurants, Bar, Butcher's, Baker's, Wine Shop, Patries, Book Shop around 150-300mt. Is also possible to taste the most famous: 'Granite’ (special ice-cream with a various fruit or cream taste). You can ask to taste 'Paste di Mandorla' or 'Cannoli alla Ricotta', or 'Cassata Siciliana' special local pastries. The house is located in the historical centre and is also possible to admire the magical view by the balcony.

Near Taormina As soon as you arrive in Taormina, you will feel the magical, mythical atmosphere spread all around which has enchanted visitors from all over the world for years and years. Settled on a hill of the Monte Tauro, Taormina dominates two grand, sweeping bays below and on the southern side, the top of Mount Etna, the European highest active volcano, often capped with snow, offering to the visitors a breathtaking, dramatic and memorable view over almost one hundred miles of Mediterranean sea. Taormina really seems to be born as a touristic resort since past times, when ancient people like the Sicels, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Saracens, Arabs, Normans and Spaniards chose it as their residential site thank to its favourable position, mild climate and magic atmosphere. Nowadays visitors can still find fine examples of Taormina's golden times: the splendid Greek Thetre, the Roman 'Naumachiae', the 13th century Cathedral of Saint Nicolò, the 14th century Palazzo Corvaja.

Skiing on a volcano! Few people are aware that Etna is a popular location for skiers in winter. The closest ski-facilities are in Piano Provenzana (Linguaglossa), but can also be found at Rifugio Sapienza (Nicolosi). Piano Provenzana distances only 7 km from the house. On some glorious days in winter, it’s even possible to ski the frozen slopes in the morning enjoying a wonderful panoramic view of the Mediterranean, and then, the same afternoon, go and sunbathe on the beaches below!
