The house is located on the border of the lovely village of Saint Gervais renowned for its Côtes du Rhône wine (Domaine Clavel and domaine Ste Anne, Coopérative des vignerons). Within 10 minutes walk you will find a bakery, a grocery store, a post office, a bar and tobacco shop, newspapers, a doctor. Lovely 17th Century stone wash-house. Roman style church. In the nearby( 6 km) city of Bagnols sur Cèze you will find pedestrian streets, all sorts of shops, weekly market, museums, cinema, hospital. Sportive activities available: hikes on the nature trails: the GR42 is nearby (promenade to the Chartreuse de Valbonne), down-river canoeing on the Cèze and the Ardèche, horse riding, tennis court membership, 9-holes golf courses at Uzès and Orange (30km). Touristic attractions within 50km : the famous Pont du Gard roman aqueduct, Uzès, Avignon, Nîmes, Arles, Orange, the Camargue, the Baux-de-Provence, the Ardèche canyon: down-river canoeing, the caves (Aven de La Forestière, Aven d’Orgnac).

  • A 30% down payment will be charged when booking. The balance outstanding must be paid for 8 weeks prior to the arrival. Security deposit: 600 Euros refundable after deducting, if any , damages to the premises acknowledged by both parties.
  • Bed linen, towels and household linen fees: 15 Euros per person ( upon request).
    When you get in, the house is sparkling clean. You must leave it clean at the end of your stay. During your stay, and on the day you leave, house cleaning services, at a reasonable rate, are avaliable if required (to be paid directly to the maid).
  • From July 1st to August 31: minimum two-weeks rental. Special rates for more than two weeks during off-season stays (September to June 30): please ask for.
    Change over on Saturdays: leave before 10 AM, arrive between: 4 to 7 PM.

cultural & and touristic region World wide renowned Theatre festival of Avignon in July. « Chorégies » of Orange (Opera, lyric art) from July 8th to August 4th. International Piano Festival of La Roque d'Anthéron ( July 21st to August 22nd ). The Ardèche Canyon, the famous caves of Aven d'Orgnac, Aven de la Forestère, the prehistoric Museum of the Chauvet Cave, the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, the numerous medieval villages to walk through (Lussan, Aiguèze, La Roque sur Cèze, Cornillon), Goudargues 'the Gardoise Venice', the Chartreuse de Valbonne,... Uzès: the Place aux herbes, the Fenestrelle tower ( like the Pisa tower but not inclined...), the Dukedom, its picturesque typical Provencal market on Saturday mornings. The living handicraft at St. Quentin la Poterie. Avignon: its Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) and the famous St. Bénézet bridge.

Region of nature and vineyards Take advantage of the 300 sunny days per year offered to you by this magnificent and still discreet region. There are plenty of interesting places to visit and walks to enjoy in this farming and quiet environment, but nevertheless very active on the cultural side. The vegetation combines forests of holly-oaks, white oaks, pines sunshade, beechwoods (main Forest of the Chartreuse de Valbonne), with a Provencal undergrowth: wild thyme, lavender, rosemary and other odorous plants that will embalm your walks on beautiful signed trails (such as GR42). Canoeing in the canyons of the Ardèche and the Cèze rivers will allow you to discover impressive landscapes. Tour to wine-producing estates, discover of the well-bred and generous wines of the Côtes du Rhone, the restaurants nested in picturesque villages serving specialties cooked from the tasty regional products. You will find your stay too short !!!

Quiet place for quiet people For a relaxing holiday, for touristic visits ( Pont du Gard, Nîmes, Arles, ...), for promenades in the country side on marked tracks, for canoeing on the river Cèze or on the Ardèche river and among all for enjoying the large and superb overflowing swimming pool looking on the small St Gervais village and on the river Cèze valley. To visit the surrounding Côte du Rhone vineyards and buy exceptionally good and fairly priced wines. To go for dinner in small restaurants along the fresh water canal in the nearby Goudargues village named the 'Provençal Venice'. For all these reasons you will love your stay. For the same reasons, noisy guests are not welcomed in this quiet place.
