Saint-Remy-De-Provence farmhouse Rental Property Information

The 200 year old mas is set peacefully in the Provencal countryside near the magical Alpilles, yet 5 minutes drive from the centre of fashionable St-Remy-de-Provence with it's superb restaurants, market and shops. It is set amid apple orchards and poppy fields. The house has a traditional Provencal look and feel with a 200 year old vine that gives respite from the sun, it has lovely views and the sounds of the cicadas to keep you company.

The house is perfectly situated to explore Provence. Saint-Remy is a beautiful small town set near the Alpilles hills, and has long been a favourite with painters and artists -Van Gogh famously spent time in St-Remy painting many pictures of the surrounding countryside. The light here is truly inspiring. It has some excellent restaurants and bars and a famous weekly market. local stables rent horses to ride through the dynamic Alpilles -which is also great walking country. There is a golf course at Point Royal (20 minutes) and Isle-sur-la-Sourge's weekend Antiques market attracts buyers from all over the world. Saint Remy is also famous for its Roman monuments and is close to the stunning medieval perched village of Les Baux.To the south is Arles with its great Roman amphitheatre, often seen as a gateway to the fabulous and wild Camargue -where you can watch flocks of pink flamingo's and wild horses. Our favourite beach is at Cassis, a lovely fishing village near Marseilles

Notes:

The house has lovely original tiles throughout and is fused with charm and character. Outside there is a huge terrace for eating and a large table and chairs that seat 8. The terrace looks out onto the sunny garden that has a good selection of lavender, herbs and trees. The terrace is the place to take respite from the sun and is shaded by vine, climbing honeysuckle and roses. The land continues to the right where the 10 by 5 meter pool and another sun terrace is situated. The swimming pool terrace has plenty of room for sunbathing and eating and looks out towards the Alpille and about another acre of garden There is an old stone pond,and fig, almond, cherry and olive trees dot the well maintained garden.
