Avellino villa Rental Property Information

The villa, situated in the historic centre below a medieval castle, overlooks the town of Lauro tucked up a wooded valley at a comfortable distance from the Vesuvius with its sprawling, chaotic townships. Lauro surprisingly is an oasis of order and tranquillity with no through traffic and where one can still leave the key in the door. The entirely refurbished apartment comprises the ground and first floor of the villa (the rest of the building is unoccupied) and has the exclusive use of the extensive courtyard which is largely shaded by wisteria. Beyond the courtyard an out house (available for rent separately) gives on to an ample garden with lime and orange trees enhanced by a 'natural' rock pool suitable for children. Though situated in a lively hamlet, privacy, tranquillity and sunshine are permanent residents and the villa offers a refreshing retreat from the numerous possible cultural excursions.

Caserta and Matera can be reached in just over an hour's drive, not to mention the numerous local places of interest starting from the Lancellotti castle or the Umberto Nobile museum (1921 transpolar zeppellin flight) in the town of Lauro itself. There is a direct bus service from Lauro to Naples.
