The historic city of Nafplion (population 25,000) with its medieval old town and picturesque parks, alleys and squares is easy to reach (5 km). After enjoying the sunset on the board walk, Nafpliots spend the night in numerous cafés, bars, restaurants and discotheques. The city is dominated by three fortresses, the illuminated Venetian “Palamidi” (which can also been seen from the house), the Hellenic “Akronafplia” and the former hangman island “Bourtzi”. The city offers great shopping, museums, art galleries, beaches and all medical care facilities. Every June, international orchestras and soloists perform at the annual music festival that takes place in the squares of the old town. Classical Greece is within your grasp: legendary Mycene and the sanctuary of Epidauros (with its famous amphitheatre where the classic Greek plays are given in July and August) can be reached in 30 minutes, Tiryns (5 min), Sparta (90 min), Olympia (2 hours), Delphi (3 hours) are equally easy to visit.

| Notes: | The Villa Arkadia is kept in the classical Greek style all in white (walls) and blue (windows and doors). It provides two separate units (the Upper House and the Lower House), which can be rented together or separately. The Villa can accommodate up to 12 persons (5 bedrooms and 3 baths). It is ideal for large families or for two families spending their vacation together. Even if the two units are rented separately, there is complete privacy due to the skilful separation of the living areas and terraces pertaining to the Upper and the Lower House, respectively. |
Further Details for Upper House in Greece
Sizzling beachfile Sizzling beachlife can be found in Nafplion (5 kilometres) with its famous sandy Karathona Beach stretching over 1.5 kilometres and the city beach “Arvanitsia” underneath the Palamidi fortress (pebble beach with sun beds and restaurant). Other popular beaches are the picturesque bay of Tolo, which is widely known for its white sandy beach (10 kilometres from the house). In addition, it is still possible to find deserted beaches along the coastline of the Argolic Peninsula. And then there is still your private pool at the Villa Arkadia.
Sports activities Fitness: The Villa Arkadia has a separate pool house with fitness equipment (treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine, weights and gymnastic mats). The beaches in Nafplion and Tolo offer water skiing, paragliding, windsurfing, banana boat riding, and kayaks, canoes, jet skis and motorboats for rent. Sailing: In Nauplia you can charter a GibSea 42 sailing yacht inclusive skipper for day trips and longer sailing trips. Tennis can be played at the Olympic Center in Nafplion (4 hard courts, free of charge). Bicycle and motorbike tours lead from the house into the unspoiled hinterland of the Argolic Plain (bikes are for rent in Nafplion). Hiking: Mostly in spring and autumn, walking tours into the Greek landscape are very popular. In front of the house stretches the Argolic Plain, beneath the house (for example on your way to the “Profitis Elias” monastery) you will encounter only few people on your way through tobacco fields and orange plantations.
Local support In Nafplion you will be supported by our administrator. She will hand over the keys to the property and show you the details of the house upon your arrival. During your stay, she will be happy to answer all your questions and to assist you should there be any problems. She waters regularly the garden and cleans up the pool if necessary. It is possible to have the house cleaned-up once a week or even more frequently (extra fee). The final clean-up is obligatory.
