Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) internationally borders Austria (1 h), Slovenia (20 Min) and Croatia (1 hr) and the Italian regions of Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige. At the foot of the Julian Alps, all 20 hectares of the property have stupendous views of the surrounding countryside. FVG is a small but extremely varied region with areas ranging from the mountains of the Carnia and Slovenia with hiking, white-water rafting, and fishing, to the rolling hills of the Collio Orientale, one of the best wine growing areas in Europe, to the seaside/beach resort areas of Lignano, Grado and Trieste. Ancient small towns such as Udine, Cividale, Aquileia, Venzone and Gorizia make for interesting cultural visits. Important castles and villas including Duino, Villa Manin, Villalta are within easy reach. Gastronomic delights abound including the famous Prosciutto (ham) from San Daniele, crispy fresco made from the Montasio cheese, the Nonino Grappa, hams and salami from Sauris, just to name a few.
