Curacao apartment Rental Property Information

Westpunt Curacao is at the end of the island, out in the country. Here are some of the best beaches and dive sites in the Caribbean. We have dive lockers & a rinse tank, kayaks, mountain bikes & snorkel gear but most of all the knowledge of the island & the willingness to accompany you on a hike, dive, mountain bike ride, or kayak excursion. There are 3 beaches within a half mile from the house as well as a full service dive shop - Ocean Encounters West. On the weekends we serve lunch and dinner on the terrace but can assist you with other meals or recommend where to dine around the island. We have recently moved here from the states and have brought all of our belongings with us. The apartment is decorated in our unique eclectic style and the kitchenette is fully socked with a variety of glassware and kitchenware. If there is something you need that is not upstairs, the chances are we have it in storage. We have a TV, VCR, DVD player, wireless Internet, & a variety of books & games

Dive into Paradise Leading Dive publications list Curacao among the top 3 shore diving destinations. The visibility can reach over 100 feet with a variety of coral and fish species and water temperatures in the 80s. Snorkelers enjoy themselves as well. There are over 36 beaches; some picture perfect. Locally there is a guide with a boat who will take you out snorkeling, fishing or water skiing as this section of the island boasts flat water for such sports. Windsurfing is possible on the other side of the island. At the Sea Aquarium there are programs to swim or dive with the dolphins or rays. At most beaches there is a dive shop on site for rental gear and air.

Biking Possibilities In 2006 the World Cup Mountain Bike Races were held in Curacao. You can bike that trail, from the airport to Westpunt, or around Mount Christoffel to the sea. Every year in November there is the Amstel Road Race. Monthly the local clubs sponsor guided rides as well as full moon excursions. There are ATV tours at both ends of the island, a good way to see the sites not easily accessible by car.

Tourist activities Visit the Hato Caves, The Aloe Farm or ride an ostrich and stay for dinner at Zambini. Tour a number of museums such as the Postal, Maritime, or Slave Museum in town. Enjoy a variety of restaurants with food from around the world or sit, enjoy a drink and watch the floating bridge open and close for boat traffic and marvel at the size of the bridge going over the bay. If shopping is your thing, you could spend a week touring the shops around the island.

Golf Information: There is a golf course located on the cliffs above the sea, challenging yet breath taking.
