On the foothill of the mountain, near a river, in the heart of a coffee plantation, with a beautiful view on the Irazu Volcano and the Orosi Valley, our spacious guesthouse offers you a huge space, with sleeping area, en-suite bathroom (solar water heater), separate toilets, a relaxing sitting area with TV and DVD reader, WIFI and personal computer available in the main house (you can hire DVDs at the DVD shop in the nearby village), a lovely pebble-made open fire place (we supply wood) and a kitchenette entirely equipped (china for 4 people and basic products: condiment, oil, ice cube, cleaners, …). The king size bed (can be split in two single beds) is top quality. Another bed is available on request. Bedding and linen are included, and changed every week for stays longer than 6 nights. The private covered terrace has a dining area with BBQ, 2 sun beds and a solar heated spa for two people.

Our property is located one mile away on the outskirts of the village, which colonial church is beautiful. All amenities are found in the village (bank, restaurants, supermarkets, doctor, dentist, chemist, DVD shop etc.). The Cachi Lake, 15 min away, offers many water activities and we can offer you a lake tour on our small fishing boat. In the Nautical Center you can hire Pedalos, Jetsky or make a water sky tour. In the Tapanti National Park you will discover the primary rainforest, the Rio Grande de Orosi, thermal springs, and many bird and tropical flower species can be found in the surroundings. The opportunities for hiking, horse riding, mountain biking are countless and you can hire motorcycles, mountain bikes and quads at the nearby village. A plenty of activities : Thermal swimming pools; hiking in the forest and mountains. Ujarras ruins and Goyabos pre-Columbian site. Rafting on the Reventazon in Turrialba. Lankester Botanical Garden. Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes.

In the main house we put at your disposal a computer with adsl so you can check your mails and place international phone calls at a very low rate (skype or messenger). The property is equipped with Wifi. We have an 8 pool (amateur) and our bicycles at your disposal. In our house we can put at your disposal a wash machine, cloth dryer, microwave oven and deep freezer. A daily maid service is available on request for a low charge. At 200 meters from our house there is a municipal thermal swimming pool with hot water basin and a large cold water basin, the entry rate is about 1,5 Euros per person.

Airport pickup and arrival We know that after a long travel by plane from Europe, you will arrive tired, thirsty and a little bit confuse due to jet lag at the airport. So, to make your first hours in Costa Rica as pleasant as possible, we can arrange you the following: - We could welcome you in person at the Juan Santamaria San Jose International Airport (SJO) with fresh cold drinks (send us your flight number and date/time of arrival) and get you back there on departure for a small charge of 55 US$ per trip. -Alternatively, we can arrange the airport transfer with a confident person. If you decide to hire a car at the airport, we suggest you to book the car rental from your country, independents rent a car companies can welcome you personally at your arrival and deliver you the car directly in the airport parking. At your arrival in Orosi, we will welcome you with a lunch or a cold drink (depending on your arrival time) and you will find all the necessary to arrange your first breakfast.

Climate in Orosi In Orosi we have a very healthfully climate. (Some peoples says it the best climate in the world!). The valley is at an altitude of 1000 m. The temperature in the day is mainly 25 degrees Celsius an about 18 degrees in the night. We are under the climate influence of the Caribbean coast, so there is not a well marked difference between summer dry season (from December to April) and winter rainy season(from may to November) like on the pacific side.

Location and distances Orosi is situated at extreme east of the Central Valley. Its a good departure point to explore the Caribbean coast. Turrialba is at 50 km (45 min), Siquires at 85 km (1 h 45) and Limon at 135 km (2 h 30). From Cartago (30 mn) you have a direct access to the pan American road that drives you through the Cerro de la Muerte (3450 m alt.) and then to San Isidro del General (2 h 00), from this city you can travel to Dominical (1h00) or to Golfito and the Panama border.
