Scotch on the Rocks, located between Afterglow villa and the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, has recently completed a fantastic renovation. The villa has been enlarged and restored to its original beauty. Scotch on the Rocks sits on a small rise overlooking Sandy Bay in Ocho Rios. This ocean front 4+ bedroom, 5 bath villa is nestled in a lush tropical, orchid filled, gardens overlooking the sea. The villa was originally built by a Scottish lord, The Earl of Mansfield in the early 1950's.

Scotch on the Rocks has beautiful, new travertine flooring throughout the first floor and original, high polish, mahogany floors in the upstairs. The villa interior consists of a lovely living room opening onto a large (24x12) outdoor, covered verandah with comfortable cushioned wicker seating and beautiful hardwood lounge chairs. This area is perfect for watching the morning sunrise or evening sunset, or relaxing in the afternoon with a cool drink. There is an indoor dining room seating eight and and outdoor dining area which can seat 18 and overlooks the pool and ocean. The first floor also has an air conditioned indoor television room (cable TV, VCR, DVD, CD) and an outdoor covered game room (20x12), perfect for cards, puzzles or other board games. The TV room can be converted into a fifth bedroom.

The bedrooms are beautifully furnished in Jamaican mahogany, antiques, and original art. The bedrooms all have air-conditioning, spectacular new private baths, and porches looking out to sea. Fine bed linens, duvets, down pillows complete the perfect setting. All the upstairs bedrooms have large louvered doors which completely open up to their own private outdoor porches, giving the rooms a wonderful tropical Jamaica feel.

Bedroom Configuration:

-Master bedroom (18x12) has a King Bed, indoor seating area, antique writing desk, and an outdoor porch with table and chair and padded lounge chair. There is a separate dressing room (6x9) and large private bath with shower and bidet. The bathroom has a travertine stone floor and natural stone countertops.
-Bedroom #2 (12x12) has a Queen bed and lovely antique writing desk. The bathroom is completely new and similar to the master bath. There is a side porch looking out to sea.
-Bedroom #3 (12x11) has a Queen bed and bath with luxurious full bath. The private porch overlooks the sea and side garden.
-Bedroom #4 (14x16 and 8x8, L shaped) is located in a private cottage attached to the villa. This bedroom is perfect for children (with twin beds) or adults (with King bed) as a large luxurious master bedroom suite. The cottage has two twin beds (convertible to a King), sofa bed, cable TV, DVD, VCR, games, a game table and large, new bathroom with tub and shower.
-Bedroom #5 The air conditioned TV room can be made up into an optional 5th bedroom. This room can be closed off from the living room and has a sofa that converts into a Queen bed and a luxurious full size bathroom with tub and shower.

Outdoors the villa is surrounded by multiple level terraces. The upper terrace is covered for dining and outdoor seating, the lower terrace has a fresh water pool and comfortable lounge chairs with luxurious cotton cushions. The pool and verandah both have hidden speakers for outdoor music. There are lighted steps down through the rocks to a large dock with gazebo and ladder into the sea that gives perfect access to a gorgeous sandy swimming area in crystal clear water. The rock cove has a small sandy area that provides an easy entrance into the water for children.

Scotch on the Rocks has a double membership (2 people at one time) at the nearby Royal Plantation and includes free tennis, gym, sauna and 25% off spa treatments.

Scotch on the Rocks or "Scotchie" as the villa is affectionately known, has a caring, capable and pleasant staff of four, composed of cook, housekeeper, and gardener. They will prepare wonderful meals of your own choice, introduce you to Jamaican cooking and delicacies and generally look after your every need.
