    We are flexible on start and end days where possible so you may take advantage of cheaper midweek flights.
    We have a two week minimum for Christmas and New Year holiday

  • Our home – a Gift from the Sea is a tribute to Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s philosophy of island living – comfort and simplicity. Bedrooms are good sized with walk in closets. Colors and furnishings selected for calming and comfort. In the Keys the environment is bright with lots of open water vistas. At night you want to rest your eyes and your body. Each room has full home-made island theme curtains. Furnished in comfortable island style. You can have great sea breezes or air conditioned comfort.

Most of the homes in the Keys are two story with living area upstairs. Ours is a ground level home with a carport. If you have vacationed in the Keys you know how many stairs there are when carrying in the groceries. Your knees will thank you for this home. The house is tiled throughout and has a nice screened porch overlooking the canal with a paved walkway down to the swim ladder. There are three televisions, two with DVD's. A small library for rainy days and lots of comfortable places to sit. Our goal in setting up our vacation rental was comfort for our guests so they will want to return again and again. We have worked to provide the things we would expect if we were renting a vacation home. The kitchen is fully stocked with major and minor appliances and all the utensils you need, from cookie sheets to lobster pot. Located near the end of the street, close to open water, the house is quiet. The seawall is a perfect place to dock a boat and has easy deep water access.

From our guest book On January 30, 2009 the New York Times had an interesting article abut kayaking in the Lower Florida Keys. To access the article the link is: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/01/30/travel/escapes My wife and I booked a week vacation stay at 'A Gift From the Sea' vacation rental. We had a wonderful time. Everything you could possibly need was supplied at the rental. The only thing you'll need are groceries which you can get about a mile up the street. The owners have done a great job setting up the home to be your home away from home. Located in the lower Keys your a short drive to Key West (approximately 1/2 hour) snorkling, diving, fishing, historical museums, the aquarium, sand beaches at Bahai Honda State Park, whatever you choose. Directly across the street from the home is Capt. Bill Rabito who's been guide fishing the Keys for nearly 45 years I highly recommend booking a charter with him.

From our guest book We wanted a laid back, relaxing time and this was the right place. We did spend a day in Key West. We liked Square Grouper and Annettes. We went to both twice. Our special treat was going to Little Palm Island Resort - Excellent dinner! We saw several pretty sunsets while we enjoyed a 'Happy Hour' before going out to dinner. We did enjoy our time at A Gift from the Sea. The house is attractive and nicely furnished. Like the front door and new TVs. The walks and driveway are nice addititions. We are snowbirds, spending our summers on a real Island - Kelly's Island on Lake Erie (Ohio). You've done a good job. Roger and Madeline W. Big Pine Restaurant - big selection, plenty to eat. Fanci Seafood has an excellent selection. People were friendly and the weather awesome. The home is very clean and location is perfect! We enjoyed our time on Big Pine Key.
