This part of South-Western Alberta, and into Montana, was home of the Blood Tribe of native Indians. The local tribe, the Blackfoot, still maintain a large presence in both Alberta and Montana. As a result, current native life is visible and accessible. This area of Alberta and Montana hosts 2 wonderful national parks: Waterton Lakes National Park, maintained by the Canada Parks, and Glacier National Part, maintained by the US Parks. Take a boat-ride between Canada and the US on upper Waterton Lake. The highways are a pleasure to drive in both the US and Canada, and believe it, or not, usually the traffic is light enough to actually think you're kind of away from it all. Pincher Creek, and the Crowsnest Pass are about 1 hour away, with mighty-nature showing off her best. One-hour to the east, find the City of Lethbridge, will the usual amenities of a city of 75,000 people.

Further Details for the cabin in Canada
The cabin, operated with a combination of solar energy (electricity), propane, wood, and gravity, achieves all necessary comforts, although sometimes with just a little more work than you might be used to. With a 50's era wood stove for heating and cooking, the heating is supported with a small outside-vented propane heater. The cooking is supported with a full-size propane stove and oven. Water, fed from a 1600 gallon cistern, is gravity fed. With instant on-demand hot water, showers are a pleasure, although we would appreciate a conservative approach to water use. With full toilet-flushing facilities, it's just like home. A master-bedroom, with a queen size bed, and a second bedroom, with 2 single beds, allow for comfortable sleeping for 4. Lighting is achieved with solar electricity. In the winter, if the sun isn't cooperating, it's a propane light, supported with candles and flashlights.
Recently renovated, maple hardwood floors run throughout. Three comfortable wall colors dance in the sunlight. The bathroom, totally enhanced, with bath, shower, sink and toilet, has electric, battery and candle lighting. But of course, all the best parts of this adventure are outside the cabin. Nature at it's best!!
Thanks for considering us. We would like to make you our guests.
Skiing Information: Castle Mountain, near Pincher Creek, operates a full-winter schedule of downhill skiing. Of course, for cross-country skiing, this 75-acres is a pleasure; hold-on to your hat on some of the downhills!
Golf Information: There is a golf-course located inside Waterton Lakes National Park (about 30 minutes away), as well as the course in the Town of Cardston course, set in the river-valley of Lee Creek, about 15 minutes away.
