Jaco house Rental Property Information

This is a very central, but private, location in the small fishing village of Tarcoles. It's an oceanfront property with a beautiful view of the Pacific and you are able to watch magnificent sunsets from the large covered front porch or raised gazebo. Scarlet macaws fly over morning and evening going to and from their feeding grounds and often spend time throughout the day in the trees on and around the property. You can walk on the beach for miles, sometimes without seeing another soul! Less than a 10 minute drive to the north is the Tarcoles River where you often see huge crocodiles basking in the sun. The house is very comfortable and has a lovely bar for watching the sunset, on the front porch. Both front and back have large covered areas to sit under and relax, after a busy day of walking the beach or swimming in the pool. As an added bonus, our English speaking manager is available to help you out, if required, with car rentals, tours or anything else that you may need.

DISTANCE FROM NEAREST AIRPORT - 1 1/2 hr. by car -- CAR RECOMMENDED? - Yes -- We are located 1 1/2 hrs. drive west of the international airport in San Jose, in the town of Tarcoles. It is about 20 min. north of the major tourist city, Jaco, which is known for its great surfing. As an alternative, you can drive from the international airport in Liberia, Guanacaste to Casa Sammie in 2 1/2 hrs. We recommend that you have a car for more flexibility in visiting the many natural areas and parks within an easy drive of the house, such as the Tarcoles river, Carara Park and spectacular waterfalls. Manuel Antonio Park, a beautiful reserve where you can see monkeys, sloths and iguanas is a scenic 1 3/4 hrs. drive south.

There are ceiling fans in all rooms and both main bedrooms have air conditioners for your sleeping comfort. Both showers and the kitchen have hot water. We have a lovely raised gazebo which gives you a great view of the Pacific and of the gorgeous sunsets. Sit with your morning coffee & listen to the birds & the waves breaking against the shore. What could be more peaceful!

Area Our manager is very helpful. She will even stock the fridge before you arrive! You can buy fresh fish for your supper, right off the boats, from the Cooperativa only a two minute walk down the road or, if you prefer, you can go to one of the many restaurants within a few minutes drive. For all your grocery needs, Jaco boasts a new, very modern grocery store. We are five minutes from Carara Biological Reserve where you are able to hike for hours and view the nesting boxes of the macaws. You will also see many other varieties of birds and animals. We are only 20 minutes north of Jaco, a major surfing area, and an easy one hour and 45 minute drive north of the beautiful Manuel Antonio Park where you can see white-faced and spider monkeys swinging through the trees, or perhaps a sloth, moving in slow motion through the branches. If you are looking for a home away from home, where you can get in touch with nature & see the real Costa Rica, look no further than 'Casa Sammie.

Amenities and Activities We now have a raised gazebo at the side of the house for amazing views of the Pacific & the sunset. At the back is a large covered patio and a beautiful private pool. We've recently added a bodega next to the house with an additional bathroom and a roomy bedroom that sleeps 2 more people. Very nice & private. Phone, Satellite TV, Full Kitchen, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Refrigerator, Blender, Toaster, Cooking Utensils provided, Linens and towels provided, Clothes Washer, Charcoal Grill (BBQ), Maid Service available for a small fee, Hot Showers & hot water in the kitchen. Activities: Hiking in Carara Park, Golf, Fishing, Wildlife Viewing, Horseback Riding, Sightseeing, Swimming, Surfing, Birdwatching, Zip Line Canopy Tours, Butterfly Farm, Gorgeous Waterfall - hike to the bottom and swim in the natural pools, Crocodile Tours. Area: We are only a 1 1/2 hr. drive from the airport in San Jose and, as we are in a central location, it is easy to take many tours and excursions
