Or choose from romantic, sunset dinner cruises, scenic boat tours, coastal ecology or dolphin sighting sails, and adventure speed boat rides to Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks, the Back Sound and Carrot Island. Enjoy fine dining at excellent Beaufort restaurants (many on the waterfront). Wander by the lovely homes or through the fascinating 'Old Burying Ground' in the Historic District. Browse the quaint shops for unique gifts, art, pottery or antiques on downtown Front Street and historic Turner Street. Visit the free and fascinating Beaufort Maritime Museum or take double-decker bus and historic site tours.

From the downtown boardwalk view the ever changing flotilla of cruise ships, luxury yachts, sailing ships, fishing boats and pleasure craft. Play tennis or launch your own boat at the nearby free town-owned facilities. All these fun activities are within easy walking or biking distance!
