Charming country decor features pinewood floors, beadboard accents, and country-themed wallpapers and borders to give the cozy ambiance of a quaint upscale cottage. Four picture windows overlook 2 ponds, 3 waterfalls, numerous water features, and bridges. Private, meandering walkways along the banks, as well as gardens, mature shade trees, and green lawns year round. Separate entrance and special soundproofing. Full kitchen. Dining room with farm table. Special amenities include Hot Tub, Satellite TV, high speed Internet, local phone, gas Hearth Stone stove, gas BBQ, and patio table set. Just 15 min. southwest of Sedona off a scenic highway. Convenient to Prescott, Grand Canyon, and Flagstaff. Hosts live on-site to make your stay safe, comfortable, and memorable. A private soak in the Spa Cabin is available on an alternating basis between guests staying in the two Suites in the Guest House. There is hot tub seating for 6. The Spa Cabin is reached by a short walk along the creek banks. It is semi-enclosed and built from aged barnwood and decorated with antique farm implements. The Spa Cabin offers privacy from the other buildings on the property but is open to great views of the pond and pastures. Luxurious spa robes and towels are provided. In-Room Massage by pre-arranged appointment. An open air Ramada is available for lovely fireside dinners at the glass patio table overlooking the pond and pastures. A gas grill is available for your favorite chef to prepare his or her favorite barbeque or steaks. No pets or children under 15. Smoking allowed outside only. Hosts live on-site to ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable stay.

Gardens Brilliant year-round color can be enjoyed in the many gardens on this verdant 12-acre property. Starting with hundreds of Daffodils and California Poppies in February, then Iris, lilac and allium in April, Columbines and Shasta Daisies in May, Roses, Lantana, and Day Lilies in the summer, and finishing up with hollyhocks, cosmos, and Mums in November. The flowering fruit trees are beautiful in the spring, and Crepe Myrtle blooms all summer. There is also a special garden devoted to Arizona wild flowers.

Animals, Wildlife, and Birds Animal lovers will enjoy visiting the resident Golden Retrievers and kitties on the grounds. Although they’re adorable and will beg to be invited, they’re not allowed inside the Suite. Stroll along Oak Creek on this historic ranch to see pastures dotted with grazing cattle and horses. Watch for the occasional fox, raccoon, javelina, beaver, and river otter while on outdoor adventures. The wildlife are attracted to the three waterfalls, two ponds, and the many creek banks on the property. Oak Creek fishing is free from the banks on the property. Bird watchers should bring binoculars because lower Oak Creek is a riparian habitat for many bird species including herons, hawks, and owls and flycatchers. Ducks and kingfishers can be seen diving into the ponds in spring and summer. Spring also brings tanagers and orioles to feast on ripe mulberries. Quail, robins, cardinals, and finches can be seen year-round.

History of the Property This property marks the beginning of the Old Girdner Trail. Cattle were driven annually from this historic ranch up the Dry Creek Basin (near what is now West Sedona) below Wilson Mountain, then crossing Oak Creek, continuing up Munds Canyon (near Schnebly Hill in Sedona), and ending at Mormon Meadow (south of Flagstaff). Up to one thousand head were driven by the Girdner men and their neighbors to the high country during the summer so that the home pastures could be devoted to growing alfalfa for winter feed. Many of the decor items featured inside the Suite and the Spa Cabin are originals from the old cattle driving days of the American frontier.
