Spanish Wells cottage Rental Property Information

Welcome to Stella Maris, a classic Bahamian Cottage, a type of home fast disappearing and now rarely found in the Family Islands. This bright and colourful cottage sits in a large walled-lot, landscaped with coconut palms and tropical plants. Stella Maris is in a unique location in Spanish Wells: close to all amenities, yet just 80 paces from a pink sand beach that stretches some 2 -1/4 miles. Stella Maris was built in 1899, and completely renovated/refreshed in 2006, with all modern conveniences, it is clean, absolutely comfortable and totally inviting. Stella Maris easily sleeps 6 persons in 2 bedrooms and a queen futon in the living room. For small families with young children a collapsible 'Pack and Play' is available for use. Complete sets of linens and towels are provided. There is a queen and double bedroom; and in the living room there is a queen futon.

Amenities: Stella Maris has central air-conditioning to ensure complete comfort year round along with a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully-equipped with refrigerator, microwave, gas stove with oven, coffee maker, blender and a full suite of pots, pans, dishes and flatware. The cottage also has wireless internet, cable TV, DVD and VHS players and a CD stereo, with a selection of movies and music for your enjoyment. Two bikes and a hammock are available for your pleasure. Activities: Over 2 miles of continuous pink sand beaches encircle Spanish Wells! The warm emerald waters around St.George's Cay are completely amenable to all water sports -from simply soaking up the sun to snorkeling (stunning reefs abound) and kite boarding. Scuba diving and sport fishing expeditions can also be arranged.

Area: Spanish Wells is a charming community of about 2500 hard-working fishermen and their families; tourism is still new to the island so you won't be over-run - especially on the beaches where one rarely encounters another soul. The locals are friendly, approachable and welcoming. St.George's Cay has four restaurants and a large American-style supermarket (with pharmacy) that provides various options whether one wants to eat out or stay at home. The best and most economical means of transport in Spanish Wells is the ubiquitous golf cart, readily available for rent, but a bicycle is equally useful. The resort of Harbor Island is close by if you are looking for a nice day trip from Spanish Wells as are several other sightseeing and historic attractions on Eleuthera proper. Spanish Wells is very safe, secure and kid-friendly.

A well-equipped medical clinic is close by Stella Maris along with easy access to nearby shopping and grocery stores. The Royal Bank (with ATM) is located near by and the Post Office is right next door. Easily accessible from Nassau by Bahamas Fast Ferry (which takes you right to Spanish Wells) or you can also fly in to North Eleuthera airport which is a short water taxi and cab ride away.
