Bordeaux Mountain villa Rental Property Information

Drake's View has the same vista that was named by Caribbean Travel magazine as 'the best view in the Caribbean', a spectacular view of the British Virgin Islands and the East shore of St. John. The house is furnished with a mix of antiques, plantation style furniture, and Indonesian antiques and features local art and a large painting of the reef and a mobile by the artist, Robert Tharsing. The traditional architecture of the house entrance with its red roof and columns contrasts with the dramatic facade of glass along the east wall. No matter where you look in the house or cottage, you see Coral Bay, the Valley of Estate Carolina, Drake's Passage and the British Virgin Islands. On a clear day, you can see the Baths at Virgin Gorda. Rainbows and red-tailed hawks are common sights. Drake's View has the ambiance of a home rather than a rental. The large great room is furnished with Indonesian and American antiques and plantation style furniture.

Caribbean Travel magazine named the view from this luxury villa as one of the top 10 in the Caribbean. From your front door, you can hike the National Park to plantation ruins and secluded beaches. You are only a 5 minute car ride to the North Shore beaches. The house has pool, hot tub and multiple terraces. Lush landscaping surrounds the house and enhances it's privacy. Hummingbirds, mango cuckoos and red tail hawks are common sites.

Couples or a large family will have ample room to relax at Drake's view. There are 2 dining areas in the great room, multiple decks and a separate pool and hot tub area . The home is surrounded by a beautiful garden and is very private. Drake's View is centrally located on Bordeaux Mountain., the highest point on St. John. The mountain has lush vegetation and the property borders on National Park. From the front door, you can hike the Bordeaux Mountain Trail to Lameshur Beach in one hour or reach the Reef Bay Trail head in a few minutes. It is a 6 minute drive to the North Shore Beaches; 7 minutes to Coral Bay; 15 minutes to Cruz Bay; and 1/4 mile from Chateau Bordeaux, one of the island's great restaurants Amenities: Guests are met at the St. John ferry dock by agent. Complimentary beverages, crackers, and cheese are provided upon arrival. Drake's View has a heated pool and hot tub with an adjacent 1/2 bath and an outdoor shower.

There is a washer, dryer, VCR, DVD, stereo and cable TV. There are 4 Bedrooms, each with AC & private bath. There is a separate cottage that houses a bedroom and bath. Three bedrooms have queen sized beds and a fourth bedroom has a King convertible to 2 twins. All rooms have overhead fans and A/C. All bedrooms have Swedish Tempur-Pedic® mattresses. The kitchen is well equipped with a blender, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, and microwave. 'Play Pal' play pen and high chair are at the house. There is a large counter/bar with an extra sink. There is a phone with an answering machine. There are outdoor dining areas surrounded by garden or fabulous views. Beach towels & beach chairs & coolers provided. Activities: Many beautiful beaches & hiking trails, most in the National Park, are nearby. Kayak & dingy rentals close by, as well as opportunities to charter motor and sail boats. Deep sea fishing as well. Also horseback riding.
