Canmore house Rental Property Information

We called our home Beams and Burls as those are the two features that you notice as soon as you step inside our mountain home in Canmore. The rough hewn beams run across the house and lead you to the magnificent river rock fireplace with its unique log mantle containing three huge burls (roundish outgrowths). Our home is an authentic mountain getaway decorated with antique skis and climbing equipment from days gone by. We are a family of six living full-time in our home which we like to rent out whilst we are on vacation. As you would imagine, there is everything you need and more to enjoy your Canadian Rockies vacation. The house has a very warm and cozy feel to it created not only by the wood burning fireplace but also by the abundance of wood throughout. Large plank knotty pine covers a good portion of the main floor and antique furniture throughout adds to the ambiance. After a day exploring Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies come back to your home away from home.

Additional Information The children can play safely in the sandbox, on the swing or slide and in the treefort. Perhaps a bike ride is in order, a large trail system begins near the house. Our house is situated on a quiet, tree lined cul-de-sac bordered by a creek and around the corner from Canmore's flagship playground and soccer field. It is minutes from downtown Canmore with its fine restaurants, pubs, and shops.

Activities -Five minute drive to the Canmore Nordic Centre, site of the 1988 Olympics for cross-country skiing. In winter there are hundreds of kilometers of groomed and track set trails with a day lodge and rentals available. In summer these trails are open for mountain biking and the center hosts world cup mountain bike races. Bike and ski rentals are also available. - Five world class golf courses within an hour drive or closer. - Downhill ski areas are all within an hour’s drive or less and include Lake Louise, Sunshine, Banff at Mt Norquay and Nakiska (site of the 1988 downhill Olympic events). Walk from the house to the Bow River, renowned for its excellent fly fishing. - Hike the magnificent Rockies, we have a good selection of hiking books.
