The Eagles Nest It's fully equipped with washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen, wood burner stove and electric heat. It's a great cozy little place, and has a lower rate than the Schug Chalet due to it's smaller size. Eagles nest also has it's own fishing boat and paddle boat. The 2 homes feature a pool table, laundry facilities in both, sofa beds, video libraries, satellite dishes, paddleboats, fishing boats, BBQ grills. Also playground areas are nearby. Spring activities can include: morrel mushroom hunting, nature, and bird watching (including bald eagles. Summer activities can include: swimming, fishing, skiing, biking, hiking, boating, and golf (lots of courses). The homes are centrally located for easy sightseeing, including Mackinac Island, Traverse City and Boyne. Fall activities can include: color tours, sport fishing, and golf. Winter activities include: snowmobiling, x-country skiing, sledding, and fishing.
Area Attractions Gaylord is known as the golf Mecca of the Midwest! With three downhill resorts and nine cross-country ski areas there's year-round fun! Maybe you'd rather snowmobile? Gaylord has loads of trails! Charming downtown Gaylord invites you to stroll and shop. Or check out the dining guide for some of our wonderful local restaurants! Have you ever hunted the elusive morel? Mushroom experts claim the time to start hunting is 'When the buds on the trees are as big as a mouse's ear.' Visit Gaylord in the springtime to try your luck mushroom hunting! Rainy Days? No problem! Easy access to I-75 allows you to easily visit Call of the Wild - an exhibit of northern Michigan wildlife displayed in their natural habitat. Or there's the Hartwick Pines Lumbering Museum, The Bottlecap Museum, or the Otsego County Historical Museum. Or try your luck at one of the casinos that are less than 1 hour away, the closest being Turtle Creek Casino.
Mackinac Island and Casinos We are with 1 hour of Mackinac Island, which is a wonderful destination from June through September. Early June is the Lilac festival when beautiful flowers abound. Take a carriage ride around the island. Ride around the island on bikes, fly kites, check out the homemade fudge and great restaraunts!
Golf Information: Over 30 championship golf courses close by! Wildernes Valley, Black Forest, Otsego Club, Treetops, just to name a few.
