Chester cabin Rental Property Information

This cozy little cabin has a shower for 2, regular heat & backup wood stove. Secluded & peaceful. Located in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Vermont. People say it's quite quiet, except for the sound of nature. Interior is Sportsman Themed. Meet 'Bucky' the talking deer (if he wants to work). You'll love the place, I do. GC-owner. Note: Please E-mail or Call for Availability as I do not utilize the availability calender shown elsewhere. CO & Smoke detectors, plus fire extinguishers on site. There is no regular garbage pickup so you must carry out what you create (big plastic bags are provided).

The cabin is located in the foothills of Vermont's Green Mountains. It's lovely, rolling countryside with lots of privacy, peace & quiet. Located on a 'loop' road that is about a half-mile in length, the cabin gets little traffic because it is not a ' through-road'. It is simply charming in all four seasons! It is surrounded by major downhill ski areas (Okemo, Bromley, Stratton & Magic), yet not located in a busy 'ski-town'. It is 3-1/2 miles outside the quaint village of Chester, VT, in the rural countryside, but not in the distant boondocks. All modern amenities are available in town & the cabin itself. Food supplies can be obtained at Mom & Pop stores in the village, as well as restaurants, inns and diners. Everything is basically supplied except your own personal linens & food. Upon confirmed booking, specific printed directions will be sent to you, including a GPS address, if utilizing new technology.

    From April to September, Deduct $100 from above rates (Spring/Summer Rate Period: April 1-Sept.30).

    If a Holiday occurs during OR overlaps the time period requested, Add $100.00 (eg.Christmas Week or President's Week =$700, Memorial/Labor Day Weekend for 3 nites = $ 400, Columbus Day/New Year's Weekend for 3 nites = $500). A non-refundable deposit will be required to secure a reservation, with balance (full payment) made before occupancy. Absolutely, no pets are allowed, sorry. Also, no smoking inside the cabin. Seasoned, split wood provided. Snow plowing of driveway is contracted. The town plows the road (usually very promptly). During/after snowstorms you may have to shovel a path from car to cabin. Simple cleanup is requested upon leaving the joint (eg. washing dishes and vacuuming/sweeping the floor)+ garbage removal. Thanks. Activities: a RT Train Ride, hiking, hunting, summer theatres, photography, alpine slide, antiques, crafts, golf, tennis, fishing, mountain biking, stargazing, Weston Priory, Weston Playhouse, leaf peeping, shopping, restaurants, downhill skiing at: Okemo, Killington, Magic, Bromley & Stratton. Cross country skiing at: Viking, Grafton, and Tator Hill. Cabin is 3-1/2 miles West of the village of Chester. There are two Mom & Pop grocery stores, plus a JiffyMart store. Full blown supermarkets are in Springfield and Ludlow, about 12 miles away. Note: There is no TV reception or Internet

There are a couple of nice restaurants in Chester, several Inns, as well as two local diners. Emergency 911 phone service is available. There is a clinic is Chester Village and a hospital in Springfield, Vermont. The area is very nice, with rolling countryside. The village is a bit sleepy at night, very quiet for the most part. There is a round-trip train ride at the Depot in the summertime and during fall foliage. The town offers cool swimming at the town pool, which you are entitled to use. Unfortunately, there are not many lakes in the area. Closest lake is 10 miles, others approx. 20 miles North, near Plymouth, just north of Ludlow. There are a few trout streams in the area for fishing and the Appalachian & Long Trails are about 15 miles away. At the cabin, cellphone service is spotty. Some carriers work, others don't.
