Nearby attractions are the falls of Limon, spectacular coast of Las Galeras, colonial town of Samana. Excellent beachside restaurants of Las Terrenas specialize in seafood and European cuisine. Many artisanal shops and a multicultural, Caribbean atmosphere. Motorcycle taxis carry you anywhere. Local airport of El Portillo has regular light plane service to Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. Excellent new toll highway to/from Santo Domingo in 2.5 hours.
