You can also rent bikes and ride on the trails throughout the island! Rentals are available for boats & fishing or site seeing charters on the island & 15 minutes away at Pelican Reef Marina. The Island is loaded with history such as Ft. Gaines, the Indian Shell Mounds, Ancient Oaks, The Shell Island Light House, & Middle Bay LightHouse. It is a great place to enjoy every holiday & local events. Check out Dauphin Island, AL Chamber of Commerce website for information & events such as Mardi Gras, The Fishing Rodeo, The Sailing Regatta, Bike Week, and More! The island has been cleaned up and rebuilt since Katrina & looks brand new! Everything is 'up & running'!
