Springtime brings the dogwoods, redbuds and azaleas in bloom, as well as native rhododendron and mountain laurel. Summer brings lush greenery and cool shade on the wrap around deck. Autumn colors are fabulous, with a backdrop of the clear blue lake. Winters are milder than Asheville and, with less tree obstruction, views are incredible of the lake and mountain cliffs surrounding Chimney Rock. National Geographic Magazine picked Lake Lure as one of the top ten most beautiful man-made lakes in the world, and the area offers seasonal scenic boat tours, tennis, golf, horseback riding, hiking, biking, spas, and lakeside restaurants. Chimney Rock State Park is just minutes away and offers spectacular views of Lake Lure from the surrounding peaks. Also nearby, the Villages of Chimney Rock and Bat Cave bustle with quaint shops, antiques and riverside restaurants.
