More About the Property The downstairs has two bedroom wings, on opposite sides of the house, allowing for privacy yet still accommodating a larger party all under the same roof. The open kitchen, with a large island and breakfast bar provides ample space to entertain, and a separate dining room offers formal seating for eight. Rounded archways lead from the kitchen, to the overstuffed couches and sprawling armchairs of the main living room, lending an inviting atmosphere for good company and conversation to occur around the fireplace. A second, larger family room is located off of the kitchen and offers even more seating, a home office, large TV with DVD/Cable, and a piano for personal entertainment! Gaze out through the double set of French doors opening from the main living room to the enclosed backyard. A large tiled patio with electric and gas barbecues, outdoor furniture, and seating for 16, is complete with hot tub, the ultimate relaxation after a long day out and about!

The private, fenced-in back yard provides a safe environment for children to play in. And all the little touches- movies, games, books, and magazines - make it feel like a home-away-from-home! Enjoy a stroll around the corner to the beautiful Shoreline Park, a sprawling 1.5 mile long grassy green park on the ocean bluffs. This park offers gorgeous ocean and island views, bike and foot paths, tables and barbeque pits, a park for the kids, and several beach access points including Leadbetter Beach, where surfers come to learn! Follow the bike path thru the Marina and enjoy a game of volleyball on the sand at the public West Beach courts, set amongst the picturesque harbor. Or walk down to the impressive Stearn’s Wharf, complete with a brand new Marine Center and family friendly restaurants.

A short ride or walk in the opposite direction will take you to several parks or to the 70 plus acres of open, ocean front bluffs of the Douglas Family Preserve (five minutes away) scattered with trails open to the public and spectacular sunset views! From here make the choice to enjoy the popular Mesa Lane Beach or Arroyo Burro Beach (known to locals as Hendry’s or The Pit), which has a full restaurant and snack bar. Dolphins and whales are spotted at this beach daily! Conveniently located close to the markets and steps or a short bike ride away from several beaches, this quiet and safe neighborhood is only minutes away from the culture and world class shopping offered by downtown Santa Barbara.
