  • The Master Bedroom has French doors with a mountain view. Quilt covered bed is queen size. The room contains a comfortable chair and ottoman and a large chest of drawers and a TV set. The bath has a vanity room, with dresser, mirror, and clothes hanging space. The bath tub is full sized with a shower head. The Half-Bath, also called 'The Bird Bath' is accessible to the center of the house. The Guest Bedroom also has a quilt covered bed, chair and dresser,and its own shower bath. An iron and board is in the mirrored-door closet. The bedroom and bath are both wheelchair accessible, as are the kitchen and living room areas. The Jacuzzi Room is private, not a part of any other room. An attractive tub with an enter and exit seat makes it easy to access. A chair is available for an adult who might be monitoring the safety of small children. The double windows presents a view of the Smoky Mountains.

Notes:

The spacious kitchen has a dining area with four chairs at the table. A small marble table will seat two. To one side are louvered doors covering a washer, dryer and a shelf of linens. Kitchen appliances include a full cook stove with oven and top electric burners, microwave, refrigerator, dish washer; coffee pot and toaster. Adequate dishes are provided for eight people. Cooking and eating utensils, pots and pans, etc are also included. The Hot-Tub Spa has seats for four adults and the jets can be set for three levels, zero, medium, and high. The Spa is emptied, cleaned, new water added, and sanitized before new guests arrive. There is a copy of the instruction manual inside the cabin, and a few basic safety signs on the railings adjacent to the Spa. There is adequate parking for 3 or 4 vehicles, A small wooden shelter covers the outdoor grill and firewood. It is recommended that guests enter at the rear of the cabin where there is a wheelchair ramp to the porch.

Cabin in the Briar in the National Park For a refreshing short hike, the old service road along Porters Creek to the 'Cabin in the Briar' is highly recommended any time of the year. The cabin was built by the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club in the 1930s. It is now administered by the Park Service. It is a unique split level building and has a cantilevered barn nearby. The road to the Cabin is the route taken by one of the Park Service's Annual Wild Flower Pilgrimages about the third week in April. Kids love to put their feet in the cold water in the summer. Fly fishing is very popular in Porter's Creek. Many trails take off from this road, such as the 4 or 5 'Old Settler's Trails' which contain many rock walls and fallen chimneys made by the settlers before the Park was formed. The entrance to the road is about 5 miles toward Gatlinburg. For a more strenuous hike in this area try Ramsey Cascades, about 8 miles round trip, but the cascades are beautiful and a photograph taken by the owner is in the Bluieberry Hill cabin.

Swimming pools in Cobbly Nob There are three swimming pools in the Village of Cobbly Nob. The largest one, and possibly the best one, is within walking distance of Blueberry Hill, although adults may prefer to ride to the sites. There is also a Tennis Court on the west side of the Village.

Skiing Information: Ober Gatlinburg is an established Ski Resort with numerous ski slopes of easy to challenging runs. There is year round indoor ice skating and outdoor toboggan runs. Rental equipment is readily available. There is a large cable car from downtown Gatlinburg to the base of the slopes. For cross country skiing, many take the road, (closed to vehicular traffic in winter), to Clingman's Dome, the highest mountain in the park, at about 6600 feet in elevation. Parking is available at Newfound Gap.

Golf Information: The on-site Bent Creek Golf Course was designed by Gary Player and there is even a Gary Player Lane above the course.. The front nine is level and very beautiful with gorgeous Willow trees with small lakes and Webb Creek flowing through it. The hilly back nine can be challenging, but the views are worth it.
