  • The loft bedroom is not totally closed, so those sleeping upstairs will hear someone in the kitchen below. (And smell the coffee when the machine turns on in the morning!) The brand new sleep sofa in the living area is comfortable but not private. Two couples who are good friends may be fine here, or a couple with no more than two children. Use our guest passes to the YMCA , two blocks away, for the exercise equipment and pool and steam room. Laundry is in the half bath- you don't have to leave the unit.

Think of this condo as a safe place to unwind and rest while you are working or touring the area. There is not a lot of entertainment built in because you really won't need it. You can come and go all day between museum visits with no long walk required. The condo truly sits right on top of one of the busiest corners in the downtown area, on the trendiest street in Salem. Since it is a half hour ride to Boston by train, you can easily commute in to town for museums there. You can also drive from Salem for day trips to New Hampshire or Maine. There are several town beaches here, and many more up the coast in places like Ipswich and Newburyport.

live music This is an exciting time to live in Salem. Many restaurants host open mic evenings, or have regular bands playing jazz, blues, and soul each night. A local bookstore has readings and discussion groups just steps away from the condo's door. Folk and irish music is also alive and well. We even have street performers in the Derby Square ampitheatre next door on a regular basis. This is not your best location if you want to get an early night's sleep on the weekend!

Other Activities We are two blocks from the famed Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) the cultural heart of the North Shore. PEM displays art from around the world.
