Read a book from our substantial nautical and vintage library, take in the water and mountain views or take a stroll on the nearby Harbor Quay with its quaint waterfront shops and cafes. Spread out on the numerous couches in the 'Great Room'. Read a book, do a puzzle or watch TV or a movie on the flat screen TV.

Port Alberni The word 'shelter' is not one generally associated with Vancouver Island's tempestuous West Coast. However, Port Alberni is a unique windward port that does offer shelter from West Coast storms. As a west coast port it accesses the Pacific Ocean through Barkley Sound and the Alberni Inlet at which Port Alberni is at the Inlet's eastern end. Built originally on the success of the forest and fishing industries, Port Alberni is now diversifying into tourism. This 'Gateway to the Pacific' offers some of British Columbia's finest recreational and cultural attractions. Salt and Fresh water fishing is excellent, the harbor still has an active commercial fishing fleet.
