Quaint sought after North Arlington Neighborhood Arlington has something for everyone, from urban excitement to pleasant neighborhoods. The North Arlington neighborhood of more than 500 homes, including Colonials, ramblers, and Tudors, is about a 15-minute drive from downtown DC. Grand with nice homes on big lots, warm neighborhood. Houses have large tree-filled lots; some back to woods. The Gulf Branch Nature Center, which has trails that lead to the Potomac River, sits at the northeast end of the neighborhood.

Homefront: This began as a small neighborhood of 1940s-style summer homes built into the Arlington hills and around the Washington Golf and Country Club. Wonderful homes which have retained a traditional look despite renovations. Who lives here: Young and middle-aged families, though some retirees are longtime locals. Recent listings included seven homes ranging from just under $1 million to more than $2 million.
