Village in the city Staten Island's south shore is a neighborly refuge within New York City where children still play in the streets. The flavors of old and new New York mix, traditional Italian cafes and bakeries making room for Mexican and Indian. But Manhattan and all the sights are easily accessible. A trip across the bridge to Brooklyn brings you to Brighton Beach, Coney Island and other off-the-beaten path neighborhoods where the 'real New York' lives. .We have two shopping centers within walking distance, a movie theater and all other necessities.

Transportation to Manhattan The X1 Express bus stops 10 minutes walk away. It takes half an hour to reach lower Manhattan in light traffic. The bus then travels through Manhattan all the way to Central Park. Fare is $5, which includes free subway transfer. A weekly ticket including all New York City transit costs $41. A second choice is to walk 20 minutes or drive five minutes to the Staten Island Railroad, which runs 18 minutes up to the Staten Island Ferry. Fare is $2 with free transfer. The Ferry itself is free. Car travelers can also drive to the Ferry in about 20 minutes. Parking there is plentiful at a reasonable $8 per day.
