Rental Rates for the house in the Bahamas



Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • Tamarind is available for rental at the following base rates:
  • Holiday Season (Dec. 15-Jan. 5): US$250 per night
    High Season (Nov.-Dec. 14 and Jan. 6-April): US$200 per night
    Low Season (May-Oct.): US$170 per night
    Base rates are based on up to four guests. Add US$15 per night for
    each additional adult guest; US$10 per night for each additional
    child (12 years old and under). No more than eight guests, please.
    Minimum stay is four nights. Special rates are available for stays of
    two weeks or more.
  • Maid service is provided at the beginning and end of your stay, and
    is included in the rate. Additional maid and personal laundry service
    is available for an additional charge.
    A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. Your deposit will be returned if you cancel at least 60 days before your scheduled occupancy date. The balance of your rental payment is due 60 days before your scheduled occupancy date, together with a $300 damage deposit.

Tamarind is fully stocked with all household items to make your stay enjoyable: beach and bathroom towels, bed linens, china, flatware, glasses, cooking utensils, blender, coffee maker, microwave oven, iron and ironing board, CD stereo, and barbecue. Our household telephone may be used for local calls and long distance calls using your calling card or a prepaid phone card purchased from Batelco in town. We also have satellite television available for an additional connection fee. Kindly refrain from smoking while inside the house, and pets are not permitted.

Activities and Attractions Governor's Harbour is a small, quiet town on the Family Island of Eleuthera, offering a collection of distinctive colonial homes, historic churches, and colorful Bahamian buildings. The natural beauty of Eleuthera is only exceeded by the grace and warmth of its people, a primary reason vacationing couples and families return again and again to this island community. You will find all the services needed in town: grocery stores, gift shops, post office, banks, gas station, dive shop, liquor store and bakery. There are also several good local restaurants to choose from, and a few colorful local bars. In addition, regular weekly events in town include a fish fry most Friday nights on one of the harbor’s beaches, and a Saturday morning arts and crafts program for children at the historic Haynes Library. Most of these amenities are within easy walking distance from Tamarind. There are no casinos or flashy nightclubs on Eleuthera: the local Bahamians prefer a more sedate, relaxed atmosphere.

The island of Eleuthera is 110 miles long and an average of only two miles wide. Governor's Harbour is located in the middle of Eleuthera, making day excursions easy.The entire island is ringed by world-class beaches, some of which you will have all to yourself. There are many interesting settlements up and down the island. In addition, you will be able to enjoy fabulous fishing (deep sea and bone fishing), snorkeling and SCUBA diving, golf and tennis. Or, you could just relax on the veranda with a good book from Tamarind's library.
