Hilo house Rental Property Information
The Plantation Bungalow, with Ocean Views to Hilo Bay, has recently been renovated and added to the vacation rentals owned by the folks at House of Refuge. This custom renovation of a classic redwood, single wall bungalow with a modernist flare, has eucalyptus hardwood floors, sports fresh paint and curtains, new double spa tub with rain fall shower and marble surround, granite topped vanity, updated kitchen, washer and dryer, designer lighting and ceiling fans, plus new furniture and local art. The attention to detail here will make your visit comfortable and pleasing in this, joyful and very clean non-smoking environment. The Plantation Bungalow is located in Pepe'ekeo on the Hamakua Coast, at the head of the uniquely beautiful four mile 'Scenic Drive,' which skirts the ocean just north of Historic Hilo Town.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
- $595.00/week plus taxes +80.00 2 guests/cleaning, 100.00/4guests/cleaning.

Children 1 1/2 to 5 using the futon there is only a $20.00 charge for the extra laundry time.
Use of port a crib for children up to 1 1/2 is free.

Reservation, Payment and Cancellation Policy:
Deposit: $300.00 to reach us within 10 days to hold your reservation.
Balance in full 90 days prior to arrival between (October 1- March 31 )
Balance in full 60 days prior to arrival between (April 1 – September 31).
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation may be made 30 or 60 days and more in advance of arrival date with full refund, subject to $25.00 refund fee. All payments are forfeited if dates cancelled are less than 60 or 30 days prior to arrival (time of year), unless the space is resold. - Use of port-a-crib for child is free. Children up to age 5 using futon is $20.00. Children 6 and older or adults there is a $10.00 per night charge per person, plus a single $20.00 extra laundry fee. Mahalo.

The neighbors, mostly retired from the plantation, are jewels and represent a wonderful and rare aspect of Hawaiian Heritage and the manicured landscaping in this area is meticulously cared for. The Hamakua Coast offers unparalleled outdoor activities on the east side including nearby Akaka Falls, the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, and beautiful hiking trails. We are located a short drive from Honoli'i Beach, a great local surfing spot. This part of the coast is laced with streams, waterfalls and swimming holes, all against a backdrop of lush tropical vegetation. Volcanoes National Park is a short 40 minute drive south, as is Waipio Valley and Waimea to the north, Kailua-Kona, a 90 minutes drive west. Hilo Town offers a unique blend of 'Old-Hawaii Plantation Style Charm' and modern conveniences, abundant shopping and really great restaurants. The Farmers Market and The Fish Auction should be must see places on you list.
You will find a wonderful variety of handicrafts, abundant produce, and fish, typical of the Big Island. The Lyman and Tsunami Museums in down town Hilo are very interesting and well worth the visit. Plan to step back in time and relax as you enjoy 'Old Hawaii at its Best.
