This is an unsurpassed location for a family reunion or meeting. The original house (Antique Unit) was built circa 1760, the Modern Unit was added in 1989, and living quarters were added to the barn in 1996. Originally a farm, the house and barn are surrounded by acres of fields extending down to the ocean's edge.
The Antique Unit has four bedrooms. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and one bedroom with two twin beds separated by a half bath. Downstairs are two double bedrooms. The bath downstairs has a claw foot tub. In the living room, a fireplace adds to the ambience and the dining room, overlooking the shore, boasts a table which expands to seat a crowd. There is a full kitchen. This unit is entirely furnished with antiques. The utility room with full sized washer and dryer connects the Antique Unit with the Modern Unit.
The Modern Unit has three bedrooms, one with a king, one with a queen and one with a double bed, each with a private bath.

The cozy full kitchen/dining area has an extra secret commode under the stairs! Looking out the picture window in the living room, you will see the same shore view as in the dining room in the Antique Unit. There is a Franklin stove, but you'll probably want to use the Monitor heater if you need warmth.
In the detached Barn Unit, one large, open area contains the living room, kitchen/dining area, and loft. This area has the best view of the bay. The back shore can be seen from the large triangular loft window. The bedroom with one double bed overlooks 'The Heath,' home to many exotic plant species.
Each of the house units rents for $1200/week in season and the barn rents for $700/week in season. Great Cranberry Island is accessible by passenger ferry six times daily from Northeast and Southwest Harbors. We provide vehicles for transportation from the dock to the Red House.
