Crescent City cottage Rental Property Information
This charming, intimate cottage is situated within view of the Pacific Ocean, and is just over one block from the shore. Located in the northwest corner of California, only 20 minutes from Oregon, this home is near such wonders as Crater Lake, jetboat trips on the Rogue or Klamath River, or Trees of Mystery -- within a day's travel. Closer to home is the quiet majesty of the Redwoods, the awe-inspiring splendor of the rugged Pacific shoreline (broken by miles of spectacular beaches), and a multitude of opportunities for both water and land sports and activities. The owner, a retired special education teacher, had wanted for many years to live on this spectacularly beautiful coast. Upon her retirement, she made the move. Wanting to share the beauty of these surroundings with others, she developed the cottage (which is beside her home) as a vacation spot for visitors.

Crescent City is the gateway to the Redwoods National and State Parks. Our Pacific Ocean shoreline is spectacular with sandy beaches, dramatic sea stacks and crashing waves. Our wild and scenic rivers, the Smith and Klamath, provide fishing, white water rafting and kayaking, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, as well as passenger jet boats going upriver and back. Seasonal whale watching, the springtime Aleutian Goose Festival, Crab Races, Fern Canyon, Oregon Caves National Monument, and Trees of Mystery are all within the local area or within a days round trip drive. Nearby Jedediah Smith State Park provides day picnic areas, river sports, and camping areas. Amidst all this, you can be on an isolated beach or Redwood trail with only yourself for company. Do come and enjoy all our Del Norte County has to offer.

Further Details for the cottage in the North Coast California, California, USA
She looks forward to hosting each new visitor; and she welcomes newcomers to her place on the Wild Rivers Coast with a short guided tour to nearby points of interest. Seaside Cottage has undergone a complete renovation, and now proudly sports immaculate, new interior and exterior décor. New furniture was selected with your comfort in mind. And landscaping was specially designed for its rebirth as an ocean side vacation cottage. The home is truly ready for your enjoyment as a little 'home away from home' at the ocean shore. Whether you are an artist, writer, honeymooner, sports enthusiast, birder, traveler, or just someone needing a retreat, you'll find your needs fully met here. This cottage will comfortably accommodate two people. But for another one or two guests, the living room couch folds out into a queen-size bed with an extra-thick mattress for a good night's sleep. The romantically furnished bedroom has a queen-size bed with a feather mattress and down duvet.
On the bedside stands, you'll find a lamp and AM/FM radio/alarm/CD player with a selection of CDs. A swivel rocker with magazine rack table and lamp occupy a corner of the bedroom. In the living room, enjoy cable TV, movies from the DVD collection, high-speed internet access, or just relaxing on the comfortable couch or recliner. On awakening in the morning, enjoy your own loaf of Blue Ribbon winner Apple/Zucchini bread, juice, and freshly roasted and ground 'Cascade Mountain Specialty' coffee while watching the Pacific from the sunporch or living room. The Crescent City area has many attractions for your visiting pleasure -- a number of which are within walking distance of the cottage. Just a little over one block away is the ocean shore, with its easy beach access. From there, it's just a ten-minute walk to Battery Point Lighthouse.
During the summer and at low tide, visitors can walk across the land bridge to visit the lighthouse -- and even take the spiral staircase to the viewing area at the top of the tower. The lighthouse is staffed with live-in attendants who can tell you the history of Battery Point Lighthouse, and describe living conditions for past lighthouse keepers. Even today, Battery Point Lighthouse is in full use to protect mariners at sea. Also nearby are the Marine Mammal Center, Beachfront Park, cinemas, restaurants, an indoor olympic-size pool, a museum, shops, and churches. Del Norte County is the location of St. George Reef Lighthouse, situated on a rock six miles offshore -- and named after the Brother Jonathon steam ship which sunk after crashing on the reef on July 30, 1865. Today, the only access to this lighthouse is by helicopter. Over 80% of Del Norte County is public land -- and is home of the Redwood National and State Parks, and Jedediah Smith State Park.
Golf Information: This area is known for its old growth redwood groves, and miles of rivers, streams, and trails. Seaside Cottage welcomes adults and well-behaved children of school age. Pets may be permitted. Please ask. In an effort to keep the premises immaculate for guests, smoking is NOT permitted.
Other Activities beach combing, bonfires on the beach, agate hunting, surf boarding
