  • All rates shown already include the 5.5% state & local taxes. CLOSED DECEMBER THROUGH MARCH.
  • $25 senior discount on any 4+ night stay if one guest or more is 62 or older. No proof of age required!. Daily pet fee: $10 for 1, $15 for 2, $20 for 3 (Limit 3 but no weight limit.) $100 pet damage deposit is required, but is refundable if no property damage left behind or unusual clean-up needed after you check-out. Ask us to email you our Pet Policy page. Remember, a 'week' is 6 nights, and the $105 additional night rate is offered for stays of 7 nights or longer in the Summer and Fall. If staying 6 nights or longer in April, May or November, it's $630 for a 6 night stay and $105 for each additional night. Deposits refunded in full w/written cancellation received 3 wks prior to check-in date, unless staying over part of any weekend, June thru September, or over part of any national holiday, then 4 week's written notice is required.
  • Creekside is a fully-furnished home complete with many extras like free WiFi and DSL internet access & DISH Network TV. Always comfortable, always clean, with great views and total privacy. No other rental units here, so it's just you and the birds and the wildlife. Stay busy or just relax: read, work on scrapbooks & crafts, play games, watch our movies. Maybe count & identify our wild birds, sit on the deck in your PJs and savor your morning coffee, build a campfire every night & gaze at the night skies. Or read stories to the kids, play with your dogs, take a picnic lunch downstream to the beaches and pretend you're in the Bahamas. Go for walks on the paths or in the water. You might even see a Bald Eagle fly overhead or a deer going down to the creek for a drink of water. Join us, April through November, for a very reasonably priced vacation with no hidden costs ever surprising you at check-in. We promise you'll go home feeling rested and relaxed. Just imagine that!

There is extra storage room under the captain's bed, small side dresser, lamps & clock radio. Guests should note: you need to bring your own sheets and pillowcases, unless you've made other arrangements with the manager because you're traveling by air or have run out of room to pack them.

Kitchen has all the amenities you need, even basic spices including sugar, baking powder & soda, and a handy amount of flour. Blender, coffee grinder & coffee maker, hand beater, plenty of silverware inc. knives, and a healthy assortment of plates, glasses, cups, bowls and platters, even a crockpot and an electric skillet. We've built a little pantry next to the kitchen with plenty of room for your dry goods, drinks, charcoal, etc. The mowed paths in the woods are easy to negotiate, the fire pit is close to the house and the wrap-around deck gives everyone all the room they need to spread out and relax. Lots of lawn chairs, nice picnic table, end tables, grills and seasonal hanging baskets and planters. Fellow gardeners are going to love all the flowerbeds around the house and the gorgeous container gardening on the deck. Separate screen room above the creek sleeps 2 comfortably during warmer months. No electric or water, but is completely furnished and has spectacular views!

Pretend you're roughing it when you're not! Guests who want relax 'outside' without ever worrying about bugs are going to love our unique 12 x 14 framed screen house. We built it close enough to the creek so you can watch the water flow by and listen to the 'water music' without even getting out of your chair. Read, play cards, get caught up on family news, bring down a picnic basket from the house, watch your spouse fly-fish the creek, or your kids play in the water. Work on crafts, or just sit down there and and do nothing. We provide the pillows, blankets and comforter for the full-size davenport sleeper, but we'd prefer you bring your own sheets. One strong word of caution: there are bears in Jackson County. So, whether you're sleeping in our screen house, or in your own tent or camper, you must be wary, especially in the spring. Kids, dogs and smoking are all allowed inside - but guests assume all financial responsibility for any damage done to the furnishings, woodwork or screens.

Enjoy the whole county or just veg out here There are no other renters or rental units here, so there's none of the noise associated with water parks or large RV/camper sites where you're elbow-to-elbow with other vacationers. The owners do live just downstream from the guesthouse, but you'll never see them unless they're watering the gorgeous gardens surrounding Creekside or you need their help with something. Lakes, parks, trails, county and state forest land are either right down the road or within a 30 minute drive if you want to boat or fish the lakes, hike, bike or ride horseback. Easy driveway access to 235 miles of ATV/motorcycle trails and 100 miles for snowmobilers. Go scuba diving at Wazee Lake, try your luck at Majestic Pines Casino, golf at a great course right in Black River Falls or walk the 4 mile Heritage Trail around the city. You'll need to bring your cell phone along (no phone hook-ups here), also bathroom and bedroom linens, and flashlights. Oh, yeah, groceries, too. That's it. Key in. Sigh. Relax. Enjoy!

Mileage, kids & dogs We're just two hours from Madison, 70 minutes from the Wisconsin Dells, 1 hour from La Crosse, or Eau Claire, about 3 hours from Wausau, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester & Dubuque IA & 4 hours from the north Chicago suburbs. We're a proud member of the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce and are featured on their website. Toddlers to 7 yrs old welcome, if under adult supervision at all times.
