Located in Roatan’s most unique and secluded, yet easily accessible, resort of privately owned Balinese homes, Villa Serena welcomes you like a home away from home. The 110 acre resort is situated such on the island that it is afforded a white sand beach that is used exclusively by those in the resort and there are miles of it. Within this low density development are boardwalks, paths, trails and bridges over creeks that take you through gardens and to one lush and vibrant tropical experience after another. As a full time resident of Roatan, I personally see to it that our home is presented with comfort and beauty. It is a perfect location for families with small children as it has expanses of palm covered beach with shallow waters for play. The pool has broad gradual steps and is surrounded by a foot friendly wood deck. Dining at the restaurant is the most romantic experience on Roatan, especially on Saturday nights when Christopher plays. Resort has full time backup generator.

Villa Serena “My, this is much nicer than I expected. The photos do not do it justice”, is what I hear most frequently from guests when they first enter Villa Serena. It is truly serene. People ask how far away are the other homes? When they arrive they say “you don’t know that they are there’. Off the master suite is a meadow with large nut trees; all around the other sides of villa are Hibiscus, Frangipani, Night Jasmine, Banana Trees, Ginger, Fichus, and Traveler Palms. The Balinese styling with the high vented ceilings; large, screened doors and louvered windows allow the Caribbean breezes to flow through the house keeping it cool and comfortable even in the summer. Fall asleep to the sounds of chirping geckos and wake to birds all the while breathing in fresh tropical air. Guests say that they feel very much at home and very relaxed and comfortable in our home. It is a Garden of Eden with a white sand beach where you can find serenity.

Palmetto Bay Plantation Places like this are rare in today’s world! Most any bay like this would be filled with high density condos setting at water’s edge. Palmetto’s developers strove to preserve the natural beauty by creating a low density resort with unobtrusive structures that frame the Caribbean experience. There remain broad stands of the islands indigenous taller palms. Dining at the restaurant is unlike dining anywhere else on Roatan. It enhances the tropical breezes and stars. The lush garden paths with arched bridges invite discovery by those of all ages. Coral reef is just off shore with kayaks provided. There is a large covered dock and swimming platform. There are flats for bone and fly fishing and shelling beaches. The on sight PADI dive operator offers snorkeling trips to the wreck out from Crawfish Rock. By July of 07 the resort should have its own generator functional.
