This modern log home is nestled in the beautiful Conejos River Canyon of Southern Colorado, just steps from the pristine Conejos River. Special features include a master suite with a jetted tub and balcony. The fully-modern home comes with a gas grill, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, wood-stove, DVD, satellite TV/radio and wireless high speed Internet.

Located between Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado. Just 30 miles from Chama with its charming main street shopping and 15 miles to Antonito where you will find groceries, banking, video rental and more! Ride the Cumbres Toltec Railroad for a day of fabulous scenery! Or fish the waters of the Conejos River, Platoro Resevoir, Trujillo Meadows, etc. The San Luis Valley offers such sites as the Great Sand Dunes Nat. Park, Zapata Falls, La Veta, San Luis, Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge, South Fork and best of all, Creede (be sure to visit the underground musuem!). Just 15 miles up canyon from the cabin is the scenic La Manga Pass area which is great for hiking and especially for winter sports. The Conejos River offers great fly fishing just steps from the cabin. Or just relax on the deck of the cabin and bird watch! There's plenty to do but no need to do a thing; its your choice and we'll make things easy for you at Across the River Retreat!

Rental Rates for the cabin in Colorado, USA



Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • $165/night $990/week Minimum 3 night stay. Shorter stay considered at higher nightly rates.
  • Year Round Rates: $165/ night $990/Week
    Summer fun: fishing, hiking, and wildflowers.
    Fall Colors, Winter Sports, Spring Green
  • Rate includes up to 6 guests. Taxes are additional.
    $200 deposit holds your reservation (stays over 1 week require a larger deposit). Full payment is due 60 days prior to arrival.
    Check in- time is 3 pm check out time is 10:30 am.
    Renters must be 25 years of age or older or accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian in the house for the entire stay.
    Credit card (MC or Visa) required for check-in.
    Excessive cleaning billed at $35/hour.
    Cancellations must be made in writing via email (acrosstheriverretreat@msn.com). If ATRR can re-book all of the canceled dates your money will be returned less a $100 processing fee. If the dates are not resold, all money will be forfeited. We do not refund money due to conditions beyond our control, such as undesirable weather or unexpected travel deviations.

Access to Southern Colorado Day trips in Southern Colorado can include Cumbres-Toltec Scenic Railroad in Antonito. The Great Sand Dunes National Park by Blanca. Shopping, dining, movies, and golf in Alamosa. Wildlife refuges along the Rio Grande River in Alamosa, Monte Vista and Del Norte. Visit quaint La Veta, Blanca, and San Luis in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Historic Creede (in the San Juans past South Fork) has wonderful shops, a great underground mining museum and is home to the highly acclaimed Creede Repretory Theater. If you want to explore the San Juan Mountains where the cabin is located there is lots to do! Nearby forest, wilderness areas, lakes, Platoro Reservoir, and more! Fishing, fabulous scenery, and a relaxing atmosphere.

Access to Northern New Mexico Just 35 miles up canyon is beautiful Chama, New Mexico with a wonderful main street of charming shops. Or head down canyon and venture over to historic and artistic Taos, New Mexico. Visit shops, galleries, historic Taos Plaza, and dine on wonderful Northern NM cuisine. Taos, like Santa Fe, has fabulous restaurants! Santa Fe is 2 hours south of the cabin on HWY 285. Visit the Plaza, Canyon Road Galleries, shop at Jackalope.
