The 11-acre property boasts a beautiful pristine trout stream, swimming pool, and a stocked two-acre fishing lake -- complete with a swimming dock and bridge to a small island. Numerous and extensive hiking trails can be accessed either on or near the property. Views include Andrew's Geyser, High Pinnacle Mountain, and Greybeard Mountain. The lodge itself offers a pool table, dart board, ping pong, Foosball, board games, and two satellite TVs. The six-bedroom/six-full-bath lodge sleeps 14 to 24 people. It's furnished with antiques, railroad memorabilia, original paintings, and historical photographs. In addition to the large kitchen, there's a charcoal grill, gas grill, and a wood-fired cooker for pig barbecues. There are two covered porches and two decks. Round Knob Lodge is located atop an elevated knob in the Mill Creek valley, about 20 miles east of Asheville. It's near Old Fort; and it's just ten minutes from Black Mountain.

Western North Carolina is known for its outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, tennis, golfing, white-water, and horseback riding. It's also known for bluegrass music and mountain dancing. There are numerous summer camps and Christian retreats in the area, as well as the Biltmore Estate, and Grove Park Inn Country Club and Resort.
